AITA for trying to force someone to return my ring

I (+50,000m) had my ring stolen from me a few thousand years ago. It was my prized possession and I have been trying to get it back ever since. Recently it turned up in a remote farm village, I sent some associates of mine to retrieve it but the person who had it (33m) kept running away. The eventually catch up to him but then this other guy (87m) who the guy with the ring met in a bar attacked them. I then asked this other guy (+50,000) who I kind of new from my previous job to help be but he ended trying to take it for himself. I then spend the better part of a year trying to track the guy with my ring down only for him to melt my ring down.

TLDR: I tried to get back my ring that was stolen from me only for the person who found it to melt it down.
