Found this one at an antiques mall outside of Waco, Texas. He was so unique, I had to get him. The cashier said it was kind of creepy, but I think he's cute. Reminds me of old Japanese woodblock art cats. The brand is Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. which apparently with the hand painted in Japan stamp, makes my observation pretty spot on! Couldn't find out much about it other than it is likely from the 1920s or 1930s.
My cat is getting surgery done today for a condition that causes his chest cavity to fill with lymphatic fluid over and over again. My husband and I, on four hours of sleep, were on our way home from his surgery consult and stopped at Starbucks. I mentioned dropping my diet today and just ordering good food since my kitty was having surgery. The barista asked my cat's name and I showed her a picture and she told us she hoped everything went well. When our food was brought out to us by another barista she told us there were extra goodies in the bag for us. Just thank you so much! Starbucks Baristas, please know that y'all are amazing and you never can know what someone is going through and y'all's kindness can mean so much to someone. <3
