Wednesday Carry - Miguron Karok

It’s raining and gloomy and gross outside. So I’m going with the zombie splatter scales Miguron Karok. 3.4 inch D2 modified sheepsfoot blade. Aluminum scales and button liner lock.

What an awesome knife. I mean, it’s fan-freaking-tastic. The action, the craftsmanship. It’s great. For many, this is their favorite Miguron. It’s up there but I still give the nod to the Vakor, but also I haven’t tried the celora yet. That being said, it’s an amazing knife and there should be zero hesitation to get one if it’s on your list.

Tuesday Carry - QSP Mini Penguin

The Penguin has been a quintessential budget banger for the last few years. The mini Penguin, might be better. Idk. They’re both great but something about the action of the mini just makes it more…fun?

2.25 inch 14c blade, denim micarta scales, thumb stud and liner lock. Has that great ASMR snappy sound. I should record it and just run it on loop through my headphones.

Monday blues carry - Petrified Fish Trilobite

PF knives have a cult like following and for good reason. They’re incredible. And the trilobite fits the bill. 3.03 inch 14c blade. Not sure what you’d call the shape. G10 scales, button lock. Thumb hole and rear flipper.

Just everything about this knife is awesome. Fantastic quality, snappy action. The button plunge system has a really nice haptic feel. Great size for a 4 finger grip and a large finger choil to choke up on it. And great jimping on the spine. Sounds stupid but I’ve got across some terrible versions on knives that feel like they’re going to rip the skin off your finger. Not this one.

Sunday carry - Trivisa Hydra

Got a busy Sunday ahead of me. Decides to go with a knife that makes me smile to look at. This is the trivisa hydra. Taking its design cues from the famous higonomkami, the hydra isn’t going to be for everyone with such a pronounced front flipper. But it’s fun, unique and has trivisa’s great build quality. 3.25 inch 10cr steel, carbon fiber scales, button lock.

Saturday Carry - Kizer Banish

Dang this is a pretty awesome compact blade. The Kizer banish has a 2.25 inch 154CM steel sheep’s foot blade. Micarta scales, button lock and thumb hole.

Great action. Surprisingly sharp factory edge. Most of the time Kizer has a good but not razor sharp edge. This came in sharp like a Sencut. Fantastic 5th pocket sized knife.

Edit* Oh and there’s a very understated front flipper too.

Oh sweet relief Friday - Civivi Elementum 2

Rollin’ with the Civivi Elementum 2 today. 2.96” nitro-v drop point blade. G-10 scales, rear flipper, button lock.

Not sure what to say that many of you don’t already know. Immensely popular and for good reason. Fantastic construction. Attention to detail is top notch. Stellar knife at a solid price.

Thursday carry - Miguron Vakor

I’ve talked it up ever since I joined this community and finally I’m featuring it. The Miguron Vakor. As of today, I think there are 2 perfect budget EDC knives - the Vosteed porcupine and the Miguron Vakor. 3.13 inch 14c steel drop point blade. G10 scales. Very light. Thin slicey blade. This is migurons version of the bugout and it’s amazing. Action is perfect. Thumbstud. Crossbar lock. I only wish they had it in the zombie splatter scales.

Wednesday Carry - SRM Scout

Meh. It hurts to say. I love SRM. They produce so many great knives. This one is disappointing. 2.75 inch 14c drop point blade. Going to break this down with a pro con list. G-10 scales. Rear flipper and fuller finger flick. Crossbar lock.

Pro - 14c steel, size, blade shape, factory edge, and the coolest rear flipper I’ve come across. It’s so understated and barely visible, but so incredibly effective.

Cons - the crossbar lock mechanism is bad. When sheathing, if you pull the crossbar all the way back, a mechanism prevents the blade from closing. It just gets stuck. You have to pull the crossbar half way. Never seen it. Don’t like it. Everything on the knife just feels “rough”. Not pleasantly grippy. Rough. Like someone didn’t finish their job. And the fuller is too close to the handle so you can’t properly flick it open, it takes a lot of maneuvering.

Not every knife can be great. This one is just fine.

Tuesday carry - Kizer Sheepdog C01C 2.9 CD

Today, I have the Kizer Sheepdog. Pretty sweet knife. It’s such a good size. 2.95 inch D2 drop point blade. G-10 scales, cross bar lock, thumb stud.

Across the board, this knife is great. Action, ergos, sharpness, fidget aspect, etc. No complaints. The form factor is just fantastic.

Kid’s violin recommendations

Hello everyone, my daughter is starting violin lessons with her school. What’s a good beginner kids violin to get for her? She’s 5 and pretty petit.

Monday carry - QSP Parrot | what’s your blade start the week?

Today’s feature is the QSP Parrot. 3.25 inch D2 spear point blade, denim micarta scales, liner lock, thumbstud.

This is a solid, well-made budget blade. Nothing flashy. But overall, but together with a great blend of utility, feel, looks and fidget fun. The denim micarta is slicker than I expected. The blade came in wicked sharp. Overall, a really good knife.

Saturday Carry - Remette aurora

Take a quintessential knife design, and give it the Remette treatment. This is the aurora: crossbar lock, 3 inch 14c drop point blade, g-10 scales, thumbstud deployment, reversible pocket clip.

It’s awesome. It’s not flashy like the Rhino or camel, but it’s every bit as well made and functional.

Friday carry - Vosteed Corgi V

Rocking the Vosteed Corgi V doodle monster today. 2.36 inch 14c drop point blade. Stylized G-10 scales. Vosteed’s vanchor lock and a front flipper.

Combine vosteed’s quality with something fun and stylish and you’ve got a banger compact knife. It has a very premium feel across the board, super sharp out of the box. I love a good compact carry. I have multiple. This may not be my favorite in the category but it’s in the conversation for one of the best.

Thursday Carry - SRM Qrick | love how many posts are being made this past week!

I’m on a gentleman’s carry kick lately and today, it’s the SRM Qrick. 3.25 inch 14c drop point blade. G10 with carbon fiber overlay. Liner lock and rear flipper. This thing is sleek as hell. That rear flipper is super understated but because of its design, is super effective. Liner lock is solid without being too stiff - a happy medium. It’s pokey and slicey and awesome.

Wednesday carry - Kizer Original 2 | what’s your blade choice today?

Going with the Kizer original 2 today. 3.17 inch D2 drop point blade, G10 scales, crossbar lock. Great action, great factory edge. One of kizers more streamlined / understated profiles. The original 2 is a great budget blade for someone wanting something super functional, at a great price, and nothing flashing.

Tuesday carry - CJRB small Feldspar

I love this knife and this might be my favorite CJRB. Certainly top 3. It’s got a 3” D2 drop point blade, the best g10 handles I’ve felt on a CJRB knife, and it’s not close, linerlock, thumbstud deployment. The only knock I have on it right now is the choil is small, so it’s hard to choke up on it.

Weekend carry - Miguron Gatov

Lightweight, 2.88 inch D2 blade, aluminum scales, crossbar lock. I’m surprised by how lightweight this thing is in the hand. A great continuation of migurons excellence. Action is a little sticky out the box but loosens up well.

Friday carry: gentleman’s knife day 2 - Trivisa Seagull | what are you rockin’ today?

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I’ve got the Trivisa Seagull. 3.38 inch black, 14c steel, micarta scales, rear flipper, linerlock

Pros: gorgeous, fantastic build quality, smooth deployment and sheathing.

Maybe cons?: it’s surprisingly bulky for a gents knife it’s not a slim handle at all. And the “fuller” down the handle is a little odd. None of these are bad things, just different cup of tea vs other similar knives.

Thursday carry: office day - SRM Enso

2.88 inch blade, 14c, g10 scales but with some metal flare at the ends, liner lock, front flipper.

Super cool gentlemen’s knife. Good steel. Great SRM quality. Deployment and sheathing are super smooth. But it’s a front flipper which isn’t for everyone. It’s just a really cool looking gents knife that has a stellar build quality

Halfway through the week! Wednesday carry - CJRB Hectare

This is a solid knife but nothing particularly great. The scales are g10 but something about CJRB g10 scales on their pyrite lite, Acacia, bolt and hectare just have a lower quality feel to them compared to others. Hard to explain. They’re comfortable, good texture, but they feel more plasticy (I know, it’s a type of plastic) Despite that, everything else is right in line with those other blades mentioned. Solid action. Great utility. Fantastic price. And that yellow just looks awesome. Their RPM steel is fine, not great but for the EDC market, it works well in my opinion.
