First trimester anxiety

The first trimester is so scary!! I just found out last weekend that I’m pregnant and am currently almost 5 weeks along.

I feel like I am googling everything in the house before I eat it or touch it. Every little twinge or cramp in my stomach worries me. I have still been in the gym every day but I feel like I have to move so slowly and carefully. I’m scared to sit up too fast or hit potholes in the car.

And I can’t even feel or see anything there yet! I just know the stats on first trimester miscarriage and am terrified that something small and meaningless will kill my baby.

Does this anxiety get better or worse once you hit 12 weeks? I can’t believe it’s only been a few days and I have no idea how I’m going to make it another 7 weeks like this. My first doctor visit is still a month away.

Looking for design help

Looking for assistance with the color scheme and some updates for this bathroom.

What CAN’T change:

-The floor - ugly beige tile but need to work with it.

-The sink cabinet - can be painted but has to stay.

I need to decide on:

-A color for the walls

-New countertop

-New mirror

-New shelving for above the toilet (maybe a standing cabinet over the tank rather than the small wall cabinet)

-The yellow and sage accents do not have to stay!

Already planning on a black faucet and light fixture, and replacing the sink bowl with a bright white one.

Surreal emotions

I just got a positive test this morning after only one cycle of trying.

I feel both a wave of anxiety and also like it’s not even real. I wasn’t 100% sure I was ready but we figured it could take a while to happen, and now I feel totally unprepared. And yet it’s like it’s not actually happening to me, like I’m looking at someone else’s test.

I’m going to take another test tomorrow to be sure, but in the meantime I feel extremely strange and also like a teenager again. I am wondering if we made a mistake trying because now I feel totally overwhelmed.

I don’t know if I’m looking for advice, solidarity, or comfort. I know I should be excited but I feel like I’m going to throw up.

Surprising husband when you’ve been actively trying

If you took the test alone - how did you surprise your husband or partner with the news that you were pregnant?

I want to do something fun and memorable for my husband once we get a positive test, but we’ve been actively trying and he knows my period schedule very well, so I feel like he will be difficult to surprise, since we’re expecting it.

Looking for ideas and reassurance that a surprise can be pulled off even when your partner is heavily involved in TTC!

European travel

Not necessarily European beachy vacation vibes. Just anything that feels as magical as traveling through Europe in the summer, enjoying all its history and nature and romance.

Something like National Treasure

(Not the Da Vinci Code please) Something fun and fast paced, treasure hunt, uncovering secret history, race against time, maps and clues, lost civilizations, etc.
