Why are verbs and connectors more difficult to identify when listening?

I find verbs and connectors more difficult to identify when listening in the spanish than nouns.

A lot of the times and i mean a lot, im only able to identify nouns in a sentence. for example. the sentence might be "asi que decidi seguir las recomendaciones" and i will only hear xxxxxxxxx las recomendaciones. the first part just sounded like a blur to me.

And after listening a chunk, often times i can only identify bunch of nouns eg. hotels, chickens, dust, reception etc. I have to use my imagination to make the whole story make sense.

Disclaimer: im at b1 and I do know those verbs and connectors including the conjugations/tenses, in most scenarios.

I created a barcelona food focused community. Looking for feedback.

One thing I’ve always found a bit strange is that Barcelona doesn’t seem to have a dedicated Reddit community for food.

Cities like NY and Singapore have food-focused subreddits where people share restaurant finds, discuss new openings, post reviews, ask for recommendations, and generally nerd out about food. Considering how important food is to life in Spain, I always thought Barcelona would have something similar.

So I decided to start one myself. (r/BarcelonaEats)

It’s very new and I’m still figuring out what people would actually want from it, so I’m more interested in feedback than promotion.

A few questions:

  • Would you use a Barcelona food subreddit?
  • What kind of posts would make it useful for locals rather than just another place for tourist recommendations?
  • Any advice from people who have helped grow online communities?

Curious to hear what people think.

How do latin americans describe a person that is on dating app?

Im not sure about other part of the english country but in where i live ppl use “hes on the app” or “hes swiping” to express that hes on dating app such as tinder. (without necessarily indicate its a dating app)
I googled that in spanish dating app is application de citas but is there any local expression that does not specifically say “dating app” but still express the same meaning?

Barcelona students — how do you carry your laptop around safely?

I’m moving to Barcelona soon for university and I’ll need to carry my laptop around every day.

My main concern is my laptop getting robbed. I have a tote bag and a regular backpack, but neither feels particularly secure. What do students usually do? Any bag recommendations or habits that help reduce the risk?

like the title suggested, i have to wait 5 minutes before every match because im experiencing (account restriction). i have been placed at a low priority queue, and to solve that issue i have to play 1 + 5 games of SR, Arena, or aram without receiving a new penalty.

(and thats the strange part, there are 2 notification of this account restriction on my icon, one says i need to play 1 other says i need to play 5)

I have played almost 20+ games now, SR, Arena, you name it. with this 5 min delay, but even that the punishment is still there. How am i supposed to get out of this??

Random thought: if I joined a mediocre pro team as a Mundo OTP (Plat), but had ARAM augment tank engine or drop kick could we beat T1?

Conditions: T1 doesn’t know I’m picking Mundo or that I have this buff. My team knows and plays around me.

Also, i will be picking last so they cant counter with vayne or gwen those champ that counters mundo.

i am plat in sea server.

Or would macro/skill gap still make it impossible?
