book recs where enemies respect each other?
I'm looking for a book where enemies don't physically hurt each other and don't degrade each other but are on opposing sides.
I have this strong belief that two people can be enemies without degrading one another. I hate when the mmc degrades the fmc and it's seen as "banter" and "hot" and "tension".
I want them to have mutual respect and have sophisticated banter (?) not just "you're weak" and "you're a bad guy"
Do I need a research lab if I want to become a lecturer at a university?
So I'm thinking of going down the path of teaching and mostly lean towards university level stuff because I like the more specialised chemistry topics like spectroscopy and heavy organic chemistry. Will I need to also have a research lab in order to be able to have such a spot at a university or can I just be a lecturer without a lot of lab work?
I was originally thinking of pursuing a career in organic synthesis but after a few experiences at a course level lab I was rethinking everything and came to the conclusion that I don't really want to pursue synthesis and research.
Can I still become a lecturer or should I turn to something else?
What is the greatest love story you've ever read and why?
What do you think makes a love story the greatest and which one would you say is the one for you?
For me, I haven't found one yet within the genre and I think that's because I set the bar too high. A great love story for me starts from respect by both parties and then love.
I enjoy a good enemies to lovers story, but I wouldn't consider them the greatest love story when they've hurt each other (be it physically or mentally). Not sure if there is an enemies to lovers story where they haven't hurt each other (I would've accepted this as the greatest love story if the hurt was done to protect the other and not out of hate or miscommunication). I don't know, I still believe two people can be on opposing sides and hate each other without the degrading and hurting aspect.
Another standard that I have is the physical attraction being the main "form of love". I hate when the love story is centered around how they're physically attracted to each other and want each other for looks/body. It's one thing to find someone handsome/beautiful and another to have that be the only reason two people want each other. I want characters who are attracted to the other's way of thinking, small habits, interests. I want characters who find an aspect of the other's personality so amazing that try to adapt it in their own selves (if that makes sense). I want them ro love each other, even in cases where they think they can never be with each other, a sort of hopeless devotion, loving the other "knowing" they would get nothing in return.
This one might be a mit too much but, I want the characters to hold their bodies sacred and not "have fun around" before meeting the one. I know this is sort of traditional and old fashioned, but I love the idea of being each others firsts and only-s. Having parts of each other that only they know and no one else. (This goes out both ways and I strongly dislike when the male character has a (long) history of past lover(s) just to show him as more experienced. Let them discover things on their own, learn these things together).
I have a few more but the post would be too long and some of them are self-evident (?) for example putting each other first, wanting to live for the other during difficult times, feeling safe and secure in the other's presence, having small tender moments that may seem as not much, etc.
Maybe I'm asking for too much but this couple will bear a heavy title, being the greatest love story.

Turn yaris into a project car?
How expensive would it be to modify my 2020 yaris?
To be more specific, for starters I want to turn it into a manual because I couldn't find one when purchasing so I just got the auto but I love manual cars.
I also wanna look into body kits and other stuff but I don't know where to look for those, what is a good site that delivers worldwide?
Kinda new here so any help would be appreciated!

Things you would like to see more/less of in the genre
So I wanted to see in general, from many readers what they believe this genre is lacking in and what it is flooded with. I have my own opinions on what is too repetitive and what I don't see much of but I wanted to see broader, what people want to read more about.
For example for me, as per a past request I made, I wanted to find more books with strong girl friendships because I think healthy girl friendships are wonderful and as someone who hasn't experienced it much I would love to read about it.
But to add to that, I wanted to have well written characters within that friendgroup, each having their own traits and backstory, without being "the main character". I know it might be difficult to keep track of every character especially if the group is 5+ members but I personally would like that.
What are some of your opinions?
usb driver that doesn't show up on file explorer
So I have a usb drive that was corrupted I think over a year ago, I was moving files over to it and mid-move file explorer crashed and when I tried to re-insert the usb it would show up but it would not open/ would open but would show no files.
Now when I insert it it doesn't even show up on files explorer, only via settings I can see it, but I don't have any options, just remove device.
On it I had a backup of an old computer that I don't want to lose but I don't really know what to do. I tried a few things I found online but nothing worked. (renaming and some other command stuff).
Did not take it to any repair shop or anything yet but not sure if there's much they can do, my brother says it's a lost cause.
Any books with strong girl friendships??
Are there any books with actual strong girl group friendships?
For example shows such as winx club or w.i.t.c.h. or even like some barbie movies where the main character has a group of friends who are all girls.
In most of the books I've read the fmc has either one or no girl friends (or either the one she had died/ betrayed her). Are there any books where female friendships are a strong point of the story?
edit: wow thank you all so much! I will be checking them out.
Writing the past (flashbacks) between two characters
Not really sure if this is considered a beginner's question or general advice but I've been debating whether to write more flashback scenes in the first book, or keep the flashbacks to a minimum and write another book as a prequel to the first, showcasing only the past.
My goal is to show history between two characters but gradually reveal things that occurred between them and not just dump it all at once. I'm leaning towards the prequel option, as in my mind it would raise more tension and the readers wouldn't know all the history right away (prequel would be published after first book kinda scenario) but I'm not sure if that is acceptable/wanted within the publishing industry.
I have read books that use flashbacks in one book only, but there was little to no suspension as a relationship was already established between the two characters (rivalry/friendship), but in my case I don't want the relationship to be clear right away (there is a lot of history between the two).
I'm writing mostly as a hobby now but I would like to publish someday, if my work is good enough and worth reading so any advice would be much appreciated!
