Sad Cane Begonia

Long story short, I accidentally got this cane begonia called a “snow capped” when an order from a nursery got mixed up and was mailed the wrong order, but I digress. It sat in a package that was shipped across the country to get to me and she looks SO sad. While I told myself I’d never own another (because I’ve killed literally every one I’ve ever gotten) I feel like the plant gods want me to try again. So here I am trying to ask for help on what to do to try and save this sad girl.

She is now living in my greenhouse cabinet that is weatherstripped and has a humidifier + grow lights. What can I do to get her to stand up and not droop over? Right now I have her with a pole to help her stand up but it doesn’t seem to be doing a whole lot. And no, I do not have a taller one 😭 Do I need to chop + prop or just give her time to acclimate?

Running Fans

How often does everyone run their fans? Is turning them off overnight okay or not so much? I have 2 in to Fabrikor and have been running them on low all day and shut it off at night. If I run them any higher my humidity drastically drops… it is weather stripped top and bottom and along the door as well.

My first cabinet!

I am so excited to finally have my cabinet up and running! I’m just waiting on fan mounts but it’s basically done! It’s not perfect but I love it so much.

Humidifier Recs

What humidifiers does everyone use for their cabinets? I have a Fabrikor tall that I am building out and am looking for one to increase humidity. I figured with prime day I should look into some.

I’m hoping to have plants that enjoy 80-90% humidity in there and then I won’t have to spray it every single day like I do with my Akerbar 😅

Before & After

I had 1 premolar extracted and had a wide variety of rubber band placements throughout my year and a half treatment (originally quoted 3ish years).

I’m free!

I had my braces put on in November 2024 and was told 3ish years for treatment to fix my crossbite (without surgery). Well yesterday they came off and I couldn’t be happier 😭😭😭 my orthodontist did amazing work and I cannot believe this is my smile now! I love it so much and I wish I would’ve done it sooner.

Anniversary Gift

My husband got me the special edition boxed set for our 9 year anniversary, along with The Prisoner plush 🥰 we share a deep seeded love for this game and have for an extremely long time. When Echoes of the Eye came out, we were brought right back to that initial feeling and I loved the design of The Prisoner (he’s my favorite).

I cannot wait to build the ship that came with the set and place it on this shelf too!

I spent 5 hours doing planty chores yesterday!

I wanted to refresh all my planty babies yesterday so I got them all outside and repotted, added soil, removed dead leaves and gave them all a good soak and let them enjoy the sun! I figured it’s spring in the PNW so it was a good time for it.

I didn’t get a picture of the group because I was too excited to finally be able to use this pot finally! Also - I grew this plant from a free single cutting 3 years ago and she has absolutely flourished 😍 it was the first time I was able to do it successfully so it means a lot.

And then I went to the plant store and brought home some new babies and also am trying leca for the first time for my other plant propagations.

Another Hike in the Books!

My husband, Waffles and I headed to Sahalie and Koosah Falls today! She loved all the new sniffs and tasting the super fresh water from the falls.

Sahalie Falls

My husband and I are planning on doing this hike in a couple of weeks and I’m debating if we should bring our dog or not. I’ve heard mixed reviews on whether dogs should do this hike. She’s a very active 2 year old ACD mix. She did Blue Pool with us a few weeks back and was totally fine but you could tell she was exhausted afterwards. She has also done Black Butte with us. Just trying to gauge if this one would also be fine. Thanks!! 😊

Black Butte Hike

My husband, Waffles and I hiked Black Butte last week. It was our first time doing this hike and it certainly won’t be our last! I highly recommend 😊

Hiked Black Butte

Waffles, my husband and I all hiked Black Butte over this last week! It was absolutely beautiful. Waffles did so good too and was sufficiently pooped afterwards!
