New to boot cut jeans. Advice needed

Bought my first pair of ropers the other day and trying to figure out the right jeans as I'm new to boot cut jeans. Bought 963 and Levi's 517. Normally I wear 30inch length but these only came in 32 inch length.

Although they don't fully cover the heel, they barely touch the ground. Also feel like the width could be slimmer (which I would prefer for a less baggy look). Do you get your pants altered or is this just the wrong fit for me (what I want it to be).

Your input is appreciated.

Rm Williams Dockyard vs Sebago Ranger

The battle of the commando sole boat shoes.

When I saw the Dockyards up for sale half a size larger than my usual RMW size I thought I'd give them a shot anyway.

With two pairs of Sebago rangers in the closet (suede and waxed leather) I'd thought its a great opportunity to compare the two.

Out of the box the sebagos feel way more rugged. The fit is slightly uncomfortable for my fit (G width) as the toe box is narrow. The leather is stiffer, the commando soles have grooves that are way deeper and it feels like it's constructed to last a lifetime.

The Dockyards half a size up fit perfectly and are insanely comfortable right out of the box. Less rugged but way more comfortable with a wider toe box and leather that's supple right out of the box. The finishing also looks of a higher standard than the sebagos.

If I had to choose I'd go for the Dockyards. Great value for money in my opinion for shoes handmade in Portugal.

Something special

My mate Chris (Melbourne's finest boot collector) pointed me to this pair of RM Williams roper style boot. Not even sure what this model is called. Insanely beautiful colour and although it is a H width (I'm usually G) I'm convinced I'll make it work. Now I need to get me some boot cut jeans! Any information on these would be appreciated! Keen to know what year (range) these were produced as I don't have the box and the stamp doesn't say.
