Metal shavings how to fix?

I’ve recently been gifted a second hand artisan kitchen aid from my mother in law. She said she literally used it once 12 months ago and it has been sitting on the shelf unused for many months. I’ve turned it on and initially there was a squeaking noise on each rotation of the mixer. Chat gpt advised it might be the grease settled and to run it for a few mins. I did that and the squeak stopped. I then left running for another 1-2 mins on 2 speed with the dough attachment and nothing in the bowl and then I started noticing metal shaving coming from around the spinner. I of course turned it off as soon as I noticed this. Any ideas of what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Later positive success stories?

So I’m 5 days late and I just got a faint positive pregnancy test result. My last period was on the 30th of May. I had ovulation pain on 11th of June. I haven’t done LH strips or BBT. We had Unprotected Intercourse on 7th and 9th of June. I usually have a 28 days cycle.

My period was due on the 25th of June and never arrived. I only just tested positive today 5 days after my expected period.

How is this possible? Has anyone else gotten a super late positive? I didn’t have sex after the 9th of June so I don’t think I would have conceived later. This just doesn’t make sense. I feel nauseous and I have a few other symptoms.

Stay in your dream home or downsize and be mortgage free?

We are a couple nearly 30 who saved our butts off as teens and both purchased a small place when we were 21 before we met. Fast forward to now we are married, sold both of those houses, made a great profit and bought our dream home together. Our mortgage is $475,000. It has a big backyard, nice location, established trees and we have spent the last year renovating/updating the old 90’s style into our dream home. We just had it appraised and it is apparently worth $1.5m. Our question.. would you stay here and pay down the mortgage as normal (with extra repayments as much as we can afford) or sell and move to a smaller place that’s definitely not our dream place and go through renovating again BUT have the chance to be completely mortgage free? Which would you choose?
