2026.05.03

After almost 18 months of network testing, today was the first revenue run for the new Alstom X'trapolis 2.0 (XT2) train in Melbourne, Australia.

The train ran to Upfield and back, attracting big crowds of enthusiasts. The packed train had a very positive atmosphere.

50 XT2 sets have been ordered to replace the aging Comeng sets, some of which are over 40 years old.

I've put a deposit on a 2026 Zeekr X AWD. The colour is changeable until the vehicle is allocated.

I have chosen Khaki Green, but I'm now doubting my choice. The colour is nice, but I'm worried about the durability and upkeep of the matte paint. My driveway is under a tree, and birds like to sit in that tree.

I'm not too keen on the white or grey, I'm concerned about the black getting hot in summer and beige looks nice, but it's kinda... beige.

Am I overthinking the green, or should I pick another colour?
