Larry & his lime

This is Larry and his lime. Larry is almost 4 and he got his lime with a stuffed guacamole set that we got him when he was a baby. (It came with a guacamole bowl, a lime and some stuffed chips. He covets the chips but only when he can't find his lime)

Larry can't sleep without his lime. During the day he moves it around the house from place to place, often hiding it in between couch cushions or behind pillows. If he sees us watching him when he hides it he'll pluck it out and go hide it in another spot. He likes to sit with his lime right on the edge of the couch or bed before he shoves it onto the floor with his nose. Then he sits there and stares at it.

We've had many rescue dogs over the years who have loved their toys but I've never seen anything like Larry and his lime. Is this a chihuahua or dachshund thing? Does anyone else have a chiweenie with a prized possession like Larry's lime?

Black 13 Origin Story

Where in the story line do the characters first get introduced to Black 13? I'm reading Wolves of the Calla and have reached the point where the group has first arrived at Calla Bryn Sturgis. The characters seemed to know exactly what Callahan was talking about when he first alluded to Black 13. I took a month off between books 4 and 5, and can't really recall Black 13 having been previously described in another book. Without going back and re-reading, I think that maybe they discussed it as part of the Wizard's Rainbow at the end of book 4 in the Emerald City. Was that were it was first introduced to the characters and reader?

Visiting Oak Island - Feedback / Advice

I'm considering taking a road trip to Oak Island this fall. I have some family to visit in New England and am thinking about trucking it up to Nova Scotia with my son for a little adventure. (my son wants to see the area where the TV show "From" is filmed somewhere in Halifax.) It looks like there's two ways to see the island: tram tour (sold out until Oct) and a coastal boat tour. If it's too much of a PITA to schedule around the limited tram tour availability I would probably opt for the coastal cruise. For anyone who's made the trip, do you have any feedback from your experience or advice you could share? Much appreciated!
