X-T30 III | Lens Comparisons - Sizes/Weights and Sample Photos

I know people often value the Fuji cameras for their pocketability and portability and often shy away from bigger bulkier lenses, but I find myself not really caring about the size of my lens personally.

I just wanted to share some pics of my X-T30 III with some bigger lenses so people could get an idea of how they look and feel before buying it themselves. I will say that these lenses are definitely not "pocketable" - lord help us all if you have pants pockets that can contain these beasts lol. However, they are still portable, especially if you find a well made and fashionable (subjective I know) strap - I rock the Pgytech Air Neck Strap and I usually sling across my body instead and let my camera hang like a handbag.

Anyways, that enough on the lenses, time for the photos! I used a tripod and kept the position the same because I wanted to highlight the "level of zoom" for each of the lenses. I used 35mm (nifty-fifty in FF) as a starting point. I shot in manual mode and kept the aperture as wide as it could go and the ISO level locked at 1000 for consistency. I adjusted shutter speed as necessary but my subject was a good girl and didn't move which should keep the sharpness levels consistent. I shot all 4 photos in manual mode with a 0 for brightness and using the stock Classic Chrome film simulation with no flash.

Photos were edited in Canva to add the banner and Reddit has compression as well so these won't be perfect examples for "pixel peepers" also the X-T30III only shoots at 24MP - tempted to upgrade to an X-T50 but that a different topic lol. But from these photos, I do love the look of the Viltrox Pro lenses. I think they add a bit of warmth and the bokeh and details, especially in the 56mm, is beautiful. I have a few weddings coming up this year and I am very excited to see how it performs.

[Request] Allow us to unlock our Passport ID before we tap at TSA

It can be overwhelming juggling a bunch of things and then have to deal with tapping your phone at TSA and waiting for it to register then it asks you to unlock it and press continue when you're in line in front of everyone and the agent is patiently waiting.

It would be nice if when I'm next in line, I can do the biometric unlock and pre-authorize sharing my info with TSA so when I step up, I just tap my phone.

Email to SMS - Personal Use

I hope this is the best subreddit for this kind of query. If not, I apologize in advance. TL;DR at the bottom.

Background

I work in Field Service and we utilize Salesforce for our work orders alongside the Field Service Lightning app. When we get an assigned work order, we also receive an email notification. We utilize Apple iPhones for our work devices.

Previously we utilized Microsoft Power Automate flows to trigger an email to be sent to our work numbers using `number@att.com` or whatever AT&T used. AT&T discontinued this feature so now we can no longer receive text messages for our work orders.

The Problem

Apple iPhone notifications suck (to be frank). Unless it's an Apple native application the notification options are basically non-existent. FSL notifications are easy to sleep through because we can only set tones. Same with outlook notifications (our IT blocks Apple Mail due to compliance reasons since we work on medical equipment).

The iMessage application allows you to setup certain contacts to bypass all notification options and alert you with a longer and louder tone even in DnD mode. This was helpful for nights and weekends when we are on call.

The Question

I am looking for a basic Email to SMS service that doesn't require me to register a business account. All of the services I've found are extremely complex but most importantly are geared more towards someone mass texting customers and clients and are requiring me to register as a business. I only want to text myself no one else.

TL;DR

I want a service (self hosted is fine) that can take an email and send it as an SMS to only my number. I am not a business and can't use a service that requires me to register as a business. I am not sending mass text messages.

Fuji X-T30 III + Viltrox 23mm f1.4 SOOC

f1.4 • 1/250s • ISO640

f1 4 • 1/1900s • ISO100

f1.4 • 1/100s • ISO320

My wife and I were just in Italy, on the Amalfi coast. I used my Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens for the daytime since a zoom is more versatile while running around. But this Viltrox Prime is just phenomenal!

I cannot wait for the upcoming Viltrox 18mm f1.2 PRO Lens

Thank you EU and USB-C

Going on vacation and thanks to USB-C my job as the household tech nerd is much easier in terms of packing charging cables. My wife and I's devices all use USB-C to charge:

\- My Pixel 10 Pro Fold

\- My Steam Deck

\- My headphones

\- Her iPhone 17 Pro

\- Her iPad Air

\- Her Laptop

\- Her Airpods Pros

It's fantastic! Really only need like 2-3 cables and a power bank

X-T30 III Takes Several Minutes to Power Off

When I'm out shooting, I want to be able to turn my camera off for a few mins then turn it back on when I'm ready. But when I turn the switch to off, it takes several minutes to power down - the LED just blinks green then orange until it finally turns off.

What is it doing? It sometimes says cleaning the lens but does it do it every time and for that long each time? Is it saving the photos to the SD card, I didn't think that internal memory was large enough.

Maybe it's a me thing and I shouldn't be powering it off so much, but I'm on vacation in Rome/Italy and I'll take a few pics then we'll be walking or waiting in line so I want to conserve battery.
