Group images by similarity
Hello! I have been using Darktable for about five months now and I have really been enjoying it.
One thing I still find quite cumbersome is organising and culling photos. My current workflow is to:
- go through all the photos and rank them,
- group similar-looking shots,
- then keep only the ones I like most.
As you can imagine, this can take quite a long time.
I was wondering:
- does anyone have a better workflow for this in Darktable?
- or is this perhaps an area where a new feature/plugin could help?
I have been considering contributing something myself, but I wanted to hear how more experienced users handle this first.
After/Before
I tried going for a gothic vibe. It feels like overcooked and it's too much. What do you guys think?
Sir Boop had a glimpse behind the veil
I took this photo while playing with him and it’s giving agast.
The Royal Court is in Session
Meet my two 5-month-old kittens: Sir Boop (British Shorthair) and Princess Donut (Ragdoll).
I have wanted cats of my own for nearly two decades and finally decided to take the leap. I always knew I wanted to name my cat Boop, and when I decided on a British Shorthair, I figured he deserved the honourable title of "Sir."
I began to thinking that only getting Sir Boop might leave him feeling lonely. So, naturally, I did the only rational thing and got Sir Boop a friend named Princess Donut.
And yes, for those of you in the back, this is indeed a reference to Dungeon Crawler Carl - a series my wife got me into in 2024 that has since become my favourite story. Little plug there. Don't be outraged.
