MPC Live III Google Pixel / Android USB C Sampling issue resolved

Bought a Live 3 a couple weeks ago, updated it right away to 3.9 and was testing out the USBC sampling feature. Connected my Pixel 8 pro, set input to usb 1,2 , monitor on and nothing.

Looked into it and saw that this is a somewhat known issue for some android phones with various workarounds.

Tried a fair amount of troubleshooting, developer options in the phone, toggling a few usb options to no avail.

Eventually, I settled on buying a USB C to left and right quarter inch cable, one that has a small DAC chip, which arrived today.

Turned on my MPC Live 3, updated to 3.9.1, plugged in my new usbc to left and right 1/4" and tried both stereo 1,2 and usb 1,2 and nothing.

Then I tried Usbc to usbc, phone to mpc as its supposed to work and to my surprise, it worked.

I looked at the notes for the latest 3.9.1 and didnt see mention of a fix for Android usbc sampling included in the update. So im not exactly sure what solved the issue.

Might be a stretch but, I suppose its possible that DAC chip in the usbc to left and right 1/4" cable switched my phone to send audio, although its odd it didn't work with that cable, but now does with a regular USBC to USBC -- I should include I tried various usbc to usbc cables to begin with, including the one supplied by akai and the various charging cables I have, none of them worked initially and now they all do.

Just a data point for anyone else out there with this issue.
