Nobody prepared me for seeing the world as an adult

Pata hai aaj kya hua. I was going through my gallery today, and came across this photo that I felt like sharing. This is a photo I captured in my trip a long ago. I used to see her around the place I stayed. She used to sell saplings and also fruits from the day till the evng with the assist of a younger girl maybe her granddaughter.

The weather is so scorching that I only feel comfortable when I'm under the AC. Every time I went out and came back, she would still be there, quietly sitting in the same spot. Meanwhile, I'd often find myself observing those plants. From what little I noticed, their numbers hardly ever seemed to decrease. Every time I cross paths with her, I feel a strange heaviness. I do feel like approaching and talking to her but I'm kind'a ambivert who can barely approach people to talk.

On my last day there, I bought two saplings and left them on my dorm bed before checking out coz I never planned to carry them till home. It was a small gesture, but it meant more to me than I expected. Things felt lighter. I realized that not everything you buy for yourself brings happiness. Sometimes, happiness is simply the satisfaction of knowing you gave ur effort to make someone's day.

If u guys ever feel low, walk into a quiet stall, try striking up a convo, if it's a food stall leave a compliment about the food. Ur contribution maybe it's small or big, maybe it's materialistic or verbal can make one's day. And it helps ur mental health to cope up. It worked for me.

That's it fam.

Happy weekend. See ya
