Aging Parent - Next Steps for Managing Finances

My father (single) is 73 and is very anxious about what to do next to manage his finances, particularly for planning assisted living etc. He has ~$3M across investments, 401k, etc. He's specifically concerned about making sure he has enough in case he requires assisted living tomorrow.

He's unlikely to require any real assistance for the next 5-10 years, but he's pretty concerned about taking the next planning steps and it's leading to decision paralysis/a lot of anxiety. I'm curious to get some general advice on what types of financial moves people with his demographic typically make (trusts?) and what type of financial advisor/lawyer he should be consulting with to provide specific guidance. He has normal financial advisors but they seem more attuned to general investment strategy, not specific to life planning.

Where to stop, driving from Playa del Carmen --> Xpujil

Going to Yucatan for a week and planning to drive from Playa del Carmen to Xpujil (to get to Calakmul the next day). The drive seems to be about 5 hours and we're planning on breaking it up by stopping at some cenotes and/or Bacalar.

Any recommendations of specific cenotes to stop at? Can you even go to Bacalar and just spend 2 hours there? Does it seem possible to go to both cenotes en route AND Bacalar? Looking for a reality check!

We will also be going to Valladolid on the way back so probably some other opportunities to see cenotes there.

Full Amenity Apartment for Senior Citizen

I am relocating my 73 year old father to the DC area and am looking for suggestions on apartment buildings that are full service / have good 'third spaces' to spend time (pools, community rooms, etc.) and are in dense service area locations (i.e. grocery store, pharmacy, cafes, within .5 mile walking distance). He would need parking and the budget could be up to $3,500 or $4,000. Ideally 700 to 1000 square feet.

My first instinct would be to look up buildings in Union Market, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has other suggestions.

If you are retired (or know people that are) and have any suggestions on opportunities to enjoy and get involved in DC life, I would appreciate the suggestions as well!

Edit: Thanks so much for all the suggestions! I mainly said Union Market because I live in a old charm 9-unit place in Dupont and have no idea where the "nice" apartment buildings are. Appreciate the feedback on vibe and noise.
