I thought I had sealed it well enough but such is life. Any tips for avoiding this in the future are appreciated!

I was at a car show yesterday in Hillsborough, CA. Tons of beautiful classic cars but this one particularly stood out to me. I don’t know much about it but the owner told me he bought it at an estate sale or something and scrounged for parts from all over to restore it. Simply breathtaking in person.

This is from Debussy’s Arabesque No. 1. I’m trying to figure out how to play this faster but keeping it smooth. The left hand is the bottleneck right now. My current fingering on the octaves is 5-1 then I swing my hand over to the right and continue 5-3-1. I have tried 3-2-1 but that seems quite a feat of hand gymnastics for me. Any advice appreciated!

You can see the timestamps. Somehow my blue bin went missing and yet nothing in the capture videos show it happening. I feel like the laws of physics broke lol.

Was 48-49 at the time. Turned 50 last year and still managing to keep it off (mostly). Tracking is the key!

This was just a fun happenstance I wanted to share. I knew the modes had Greek names but didn’t really ever know what it was based on. I happened to be on a Greek classics kick lately and have got around to reading The Histories which was written in the 5th century BCE. I’m pretty sure none of the modes were actually used or created during that time but it’s neat to see where the names actually come from historically.

It was so good!
