Nick Austin
Seems with the right coach and gameplan, Austin’s recruiting looks very, very astute.
School me: did we show him the door or did he walk?
He’s done a great job, clearly.
Winning and Walker
How does winning tonight affect what we pay for Cody? Don’t we want to finish as low as possible to avoid coughing up overs?
Is this reasonable from a tradie?
Cabinetmaker rocks up yesterday to do an install. We agreed on a price. Job takes longer than expected and he’s gotta come back tomorrow - I’d say it’s about half done. He just texts me to say:
“Hi xxxxx,
Please make sure you have the cash for me tomorrow morning, sadly I won’t unload my tools unless I have it in my hands.
Cheers, xxxx”
Noting that payment prior to completion was never discussed let alone agreed. This by the way is after he already sprung an extra $100 charge on me for materials (mdf template snd screws) the day before the job, which I decided to cop just to get the job done and avoid delays.
What would you do?
*UPDATE*
I’ve responded as follows:
“Hi xxxx,
I'll pay you $700 in the morning for work already done, then $700 on completion.
Please make sure you have a receipt prepared with your company details and scope of works done so we can exchange at the end.
Thanks xxxx”
Will update in due course.
Missus and I are planning a reccy trip to CBR with an eye on moving there in the next 12-18 months. We won’t have time to explore everywhere, but keen for advice on areas and suburbs best suited to our lifestyle that we can zero in on. Not snooty, not derro. Just “office job” white collar areas that are established, green, quiet but well located for schools and access to work opportunities. We’re heavy into cycling and hiking so access to good places to launch into those activities without needing to drive would be great. We cook a lot at home and we’re in bed by 9:30 so don’t need bars/pubs etc. just a little mall with Coles/Woolies/Aldi would be nice. (Yes we’re boring a-f and we don’t care 😂)
