Do I need to level any of his traces? I'm using him as a support not building any dps on him for himenova

I've been running himeko nova with sunday/sparkle/dhpt however I need to put my sparkle into my archer team. I have e0s0 mblade and was wondering if I could use him to replace sparkle or do I have to build my e0 welt.
