Zone 6b central Illinois, I’m getting antsy but August is listed as the start of energy being sent to the roots.
Good to go now or am I better off waiting until later August/early September?

Ok all so I’m about a month/ month and a half from beginning my journey into killing a few medium sized TOH’s (right at the edge of 6/7 inches)
I’m planning a hack and squirt but I prefer to use Triclopyr over glyphosate just because of the mechanism behind the chemical.
Unfortunately it seems like I purchased an Ester version of triclophyr specifically brushtox.
Would I be able to do a basal bark then follow up with hack and squirt glyphosate or is that going to kill it too quickly before really killing the root zone.
Otherwise brushtox says it’s for everything EXCEPT hack and squirt, which even after hours of looking I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t work other than “it’s off label”
Clearing a small area and ran across a few of these, from what I can tell it looks like Siberian elm, but if it’s not I’d prefer to leave it standing.
