Getting the Run-Around from Walmart and Seller
I'm aware this isn't Walmart customer service, I'm just looking for advice on how to move forward.
So, I made a rather expensive purchase of a 'Restored: Like New' computer component from a Walmart seller online. The item came, and was neither 'Like New' nor the item I ordered. I already had another item to return, so I also brought the online order in to the store. Everything went fine, the CS member labeled it as 'Wrong item received' and I was given a receipt and tracking number. I checked online after I got home to make sure it was being returned, and it looked like something along the lines of 'Return pending' or similar (I'm not a frequent returner, not sure exactly what it was.)
Low and behold, it's been more than a week since I returned the item, and over 48 hours past the item being delivered to the seller. I hadn't heard anything from the seller, so I reached out to them through the Walmart 'Contact the seller' function. They responded telling me to contact Walmart about the return status, which is not the correct flow of communication, right?
I contacted Walmart support (the awful chatbot, though I will be calling to talk to a rep soon), and it told me the return status was cancelled. So what is going on? Am I screwed out of my money? Did the seller somehow cancel the return after I sent it back? Do I need to threaten a chargeback through my CC? I still have the return receipt, and photo proof of the Fedex delivery returning the item. What's my next best move?
