reddit.comweighing in on the dog question
I'm closing in on a month of taking care of dogs in an open play environment (where a large group of dogs are out playing with very little time crated) and after talking to a lot of the more veteran workers, it's clear that more dogs can often times be less effort because they *do*, in fact, take care of each other. I find about 8 dogs to be ideal. you want pairs because larger groups ll playing together can get rowdy, but if you have too few dogs they will get bored or try to force dogs to play when they just want to relax. to be honest, as long as no dogs have specific interpersonal beef, any amount of dogs from like 7 dogs to 25 dogs feels about the same, just with varying amounts of shit to pick up. if you want to have fun with a dog, i would obviously recommend less, but if you're looking PURELY for the amount of man hours/effort and don't care about how much of it is picking up dogshit vs playing with the dogs, the 9 dogs are easier. (assuming you have adequate space and finances, as well.)
