Idiot Nation: 1 Month Later

How are we feeling about the station? I've been listening to it on all my commutes for the past month and I have a few thoughts.

  • Artist variety is great. I've discovered some cool songs through the station
  • Green Day song variety is… strange. I've seen a lot of trilogy songs for some reason. Also, sometimes they play Are We The Waiting, sometimes they play St. Jimmy, and sometimes they play Are We The Waiting/St. Jimmy.
  • The stories and anecdotes are fun!

What do y'all think?

Should I Go In?

I was a seasonal specialist for the 2024 holiday season. Since then, I've relocated and went back to school full time.

I'm still in school but I've found myself with extra time. A nearby store is hiring. I applied but I was wondering if it's worth going in person and talking to someone. I really loved my time at Apple and I would love to go back.

Edit: I see y'all saying it's a totally different place now. I'm not worried about that atm. My question is purely "should I speak to someone at the store or is it not worth?"

Long story short, I placed a pickup order at the wrong location. I realized even before the order said it was submitted. Couldn't cancel. Couldn't call the restaurant.

Was this my fault? 100%. We've all done it. I've never had an issue cancelling orders anywhere else (be it food, Amazon, etc), especially immediately after placing.

Ignoring the massive hurdle of actually getting in touch with a person at Popeyes support, they said there was nothing they could do. In the big 2026, the global brand Popeyes doesn't offer remediation for accidental orders.

My order was $8. I am fortunate to where that's not a big deal (and I don't take that for granted), but what if $8 was a big deal for me? What if it was a large order at a location I couldn't get to? I asked this blatantly and they ignored it in the reply.

I'm posting this with the knowledge of Rule 4. Hopefully, this came off more informational than me complaining (even though I am definitely complaining).

I'll leave you all with this: how much money do you think Popeyes makes from orders people can't cancel? That thought scares me…
