Pond update!

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ponds/s/0sKcia34EX

Update on the pond:

Should’ve used a laser level the first time lol the low side ended up being about 1.5ft lower than the rest. First two pictures show the changes made as well as the big filter we added. Liner was dug out and then the berm under it was raised. Last two pictures show the pond all filled in! Obviously more work to be done as we will never be done but we’re extremely happy with the end result! Final size is 17x25ft and water level is about 5.5-6ft deep! We had 5 people swimming in it this weekend along with our dogs ofcourse loving it!

First time building a pond! This is for ourselves to swim and have some small native fish in

Hello! We just finished putting the final details on our pond build this week. Final design is a little different than originally intended as after the first 2ft we hit ledge. After jack hammering for 48hrs we have up on the final 2 feet of depth as we were running out of time with the excavator. Final size is 17ftx25ftx~6ft

As you can tell our yard has a huge slope towards bottom right so the rock wall is hiding the pond liner to match the height on the tall side. Shallow top end is 3ft deep. The basin is around 6ft. Water gets delivered this weekend and plants will be purchased next weekend and installed. Next spring we will add some small native bait fish like shiners and 3 banded killifish along with some pumpkinseed sunfish ( just a handful.) Next spring an aerator will also be installed (we are installing power next to the pond) there is also an overflow drain that will dump into our woods.

Editing to add: the area between the fence and the pond itself is about 30ft wide of flat ground. This will be an apple and pear orchard.

Also adding that everything that is dirt will be seeded with grass/clover/thyme mix and then we will add native plants as the years go. But there will be NO exposed dirt lol

Our gallery wall + plant room (dining room lol)

Hey guys! Unsure this is exactly “whimsy goth” or maybe more cottage core? Something in the middle more perhaps? We for sure fit somewhere in the middle as people. All of our rooms have different colors and wallpapers along with art and plants but this is for sure our most vibrant room 🌞🌛
