pls tell me how to help
hello all! the attached video is mine and the bird does not appear to be injured or in distress. i almost killed it with my rotary mower earlier this afternoon -- i didn't see it because it was in some taller grass but fortunately i don't think it actually got hurt.

it is too young to fully fly but it can hop and flaps its wings trying to (saw this when i got close). i believe its parents are here trying to figure out how to get it back -- two chipping sparrows keep flying close, landing on the nearby fence, and i just now saw one land on the ground with the chick. looked like it gave it some food maybe because i saw the chick stretch its head out to the older bird.

ANYWAYS i wanted you to have enough detail to tell me -- should i be doing anything to help? it's been a couple of hours and it's still on the ground but has moved about 12 feet from where i originally left it. it seems the parents are still sticking around keeping watch. i am obviously keeping my dogs from the back yard for now, and google said the chick is old enough for me to leave it alone. i have read other posts as well but i guess i would just like some human reassurance that i am doing the right thing.

oh you MUST be kidding
yeah that's gonna be a no for me big dawg
