I designed this horizontal DSLR scanning setup to scan my 35mm negatives. All the pieces move on the rail, and they can be locked down with a screw. My flash doesn't have radio control, so it communicates with the DSLR using light signals.
This is also my first more serious 3D project, so there is still a lot of room for improvement.
So far, I am quite satisfied with the results.
