Struggling with hunger cues

Hello! I've been in recovery for a bit now. I will try to keep this post short. I am still very much struggling with recognizing hunger cues.

I don't know whether it's a stomach pain (I've been eating a lot more fiber all of a sudden), or actual hunger. And I don't know when to eat or when to stop eating. Could someone describe what hunger feels like for them?

I would have texted a friend about this but I'm very ashamed because I feel like I'm hungry all the time. So the only question is, what does hunger feel like? I associate hunger with a slight pain in the stomach and maybe some growling but not necessarily. I don't know.

Relapsed (kind of)

I kind of relapsed a few days ago when I told myself I would "lock in" and eat in a deficit so I could lose more weight, all while running and strength training and recently i picked up the bike too. It's been exhausting both mentally and physically and all i want to do right now is eat and eat and eat.

I'm feeling very ravenous at the moment and i already messed up my deficit for today and since i can't seem to get rid of the all or nothing mentality now i feel the need to eat everything in sight, everything that i desire. It was a mistake to relapse like this thinking i was going to lose weight and be fine and not that hungry. But I'm very hungry.

I have been in a binging - restrict cycle for a while now and i dont know how to stop it. I cant just "eat normally and intuitively". I'm very hungry and very gross. I gained a lot of weight and i can't fit into my favorite pants anymore (it's only been a few weeks of eating messily). My biggest dream is to heal my relationship with food and be able to train properly.

I really really love running and wish to participate to my first half marathon in december this year. Is it a good thing to do? Now, having a bit of mental clarity, rather than losing weight i want to gain more muscle mass and look big in that sense, like being jacked. Is it worth it giving into my extreme hunger while strength training?

Is it okay also to train and work for a half marathon? Or is it all too soon? I feel in love with sports but i tend to consume less than i actually need when I'm training hard. I cant find the balance.

Any kind words or advice is welcome and im grateful for anyone that'd take some of their time to help me out. I feel very alone in this.

I'm very jealous of people who have a healthy relationship with food.

Doing another quick-ish vent post. Im feeling horrible. Im experiencing extreme hunger after a period of heavily restricting my food intake due to an ED while also working out past my limits I'd say.

Im very ashamed of myself. I ate so much today my stomach hurts and I'm a mess. Its embarrassing really and all i want to do is skip through this period and come out recovered, in a healthy place regarding food and exercise.

But i can't do that, im aware i cant just jump to a healthy lifestyle. Im embarrassed and even talking about it with a friend feels awful and awkward like im getting undressed in front of them. I feel awful every single day, whether i restrict or eat too much due to EH. Venting on here kinda helps.

I want a healthy relationship with food and i want to be able to pursue my hobbies and passions without the guilt and constant thinking of food. Im awful. Really really awful. And i wish to be able to see food in a neutral light, not like something to be afraid of, but purely as fuel. And, after rejecting myself food for so long, i can only think about it and now i eat food that i dont even like just because im ravenous and hungry and there's nothing else in the house.

Seriously, its embarrassing. I did groceries just a few days ago (for a family of four) and now it is all almost gone because of me and my hunger. Im ashamed. Very ashamed and scared of how my body is going to change and i dont know what to do. Everyone seems so happy enjoying everything and being themselves while im stuck counting calories in my head and thinking about my next meal and my next workout on repeat, all day long.

I hate it so so so much.
