Governor McMaster signed S.751. SC’s nitrous oxide regulation framework is now state law.

Governor McMaster signed yesterday. The new law immediately:

Prohibits flavored nitrous oxide product sales

Bans tobacco retailers (vape shops, smoke shops) from selling nitrous oxide entirely

Requires documented exempt-entity status for all other sales

Creates SLED enforcement authority over the new offenses

Five Points smoke shops and vape stores statewide are affected. Existing inventory of flavored products is now unsellable. Tobacco retailers selling nitrous oxide of any kind are now in violation.

▲ 1 r/latin

I’m getting this inscribed permanently and want to verify the Latin is correct before committing. The intended meaning is ‘Prepare. Be present. Release.’ as three imperatives; a personal operating principle.

Para — imperative of parare (prepare).

Adesto — imperative of adesse (be present, attend).

Dimitte — imperative of dimittere (release, send away, let go).

Inscriptional form with interpuncts:

PARA · ADESTO · DIMITTE

Questions:

  1. Are all three imperatives grammatically correct in this form?

  2. Does dimitte carry connotations I should be aware of in this construction (especially given its ecclesiastical use)? (Note: the liturgical weight is intentional; release and forgive both apply.)

  3. Is there a more elegant or period-accurate construction I should consider?

Open to corrections. Thank you.
