I think it's good while we have a captive audience to discuss the realities of watching something be unmade after it was made and the acceptance and peace we can have from that.
The purpose of the sand mandala is not simply the creation of a permanent beauty, but instead just the opposite. The point is the impermanent nature of the work. The beauty is momentary, and we have to learn to enjoy good things as they happen, and accept that bad things will end eventually.
I think many of us have heard the cliche "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" and I think we can take solace that we can smile for both things - the transitory nature of single events is not meant to be permanent - we should be happy that it is over and happy that we got to enjoy it while it was there.
Many of the subreddit's users were young, and I think on this metaphor even more aptly, because one thing that is important to realize is just as the subreddit was never permanent, neither is the youth and free time to play on it. Enjoy and experience the variety of life and youth while you can. Do not despair that an activity you enjoyed has ended, enjoy that you did indeed get to be apart of it, and enjoy the reality that you shall experience many more things.
Enjoy the break, whatever it ends up being, and accept that like all things - The Democracy of Reddit, at least as it was a few weeks ago - was always transitory. Like the sand of a mandala being returned to nature to feed back into the many cycles of the world, you can think of this as your creative energies being returned to other things. Make art, make posts, come up with games and ideas and new things while you have this time to reflect and become inspired.
Since none of it matters anymore, I am now taking questions and comments. Feel free to vent, or share a moment we had together. Ask my what I remember about you and I will reply - without being mean.
Sua Sponte "describes an act of authority taken without formal prompting by another party" ChiliMeowerCat is not a party to NEP in the way his lawsuit flowed. His argument was *on behalf of* the Executive - but that falls to the executive to perform the ruling of.
This is generally called the "real party in interest" Which chili is not.
The Court cannot simply go on massive political panhandling efforts whenever they receive a court case. The Court may NOT act sua sponte - also entails not infringing on the acts of other branches of government in sections outside of their purview.
Illiterate user A. cannot demand Illiterate Judge B. Strike down internal memos from the president to their commander because they want to. Not having Sua Sponte precludes the right of the Court to interfere without express harm or involvement of a plaintiff.
ChiliGPT can't just sue to change every ruling in history, and Printler can't use lawsuits with narrow scope to go outside the scope and change prior case law.
Stay in your lanes.
The whole point of not giving the Court Sua Sponte was to prevent these massive and inept overreaching acts by people with bare concepts of the rule of law.
- This does not clear all powers as unconstitutional, as the court finds the Politburo's primary control over foreign exchange & foreign trade, as established under section of the New Economic Plan, "Mechanisms of the Politburo", clause 4. This is because of the Constitution's Article VII, Clause 7, which states that "Provinces may not have their own foreign policy, excluding trade deals and any special cases approved by the president and legislature." The court interprets this clause as allowing provinces to negotiate their own trade policy, and as such, rule that this clause of the New Economic Plan infringes on the rights of the Provinces & strikes the clauses outlined to be unconstitutional.
"interprets this clause as giving an allowance to the provinces, ergo infringes on the rights of the provinces" illiterate nonsense. You cannot be awarded privileges that restricts your rights - you either have right to something inherently, and therefore the privilege is just a "nice addition" or you didn't have the rights to begin with and the privilege establishes access. Typical Printler garbage.
- The court also finds the New Economic Plan's clause under "Structure of the People's Army", stated here, in The structure, organization, and styling of these forces shall be left up to the Grand Marshall and the commanders to decide with the Grand Marshall having final say. The replacement of the Grand Marshall shall be performed only by the Politburo and must meet the following requirements: unconstitutional, as stated in Article III Clause V, it states that The President may at their convenience and desire assemble for themselves a cabinet and delegate functions to their cabinet. As earlier stated in the New Economic plan that "The PAD shall be organized under one supreme commander of these forces titled The Grand Marshall of The People’s Army," it falls under the President's purview as the chief commander, making the Grand Marshall a cabinet-level position. The first clause in the New Economic Plan contradicts Article III Clause V because it blocks the President from replacing the Grand Marshall, a part of their cabinet. As such, all subclauses under this clause are also struck.
The bill has severance. You can't strike all sub articles because one article contradicts you.
"It falls under the President's purview" - right, which Chilli (Despite routine desires to be) is not the president and cannot express harm. It would fall to the President to contradict this, in which case the President would have the right to say 'this isn't true authority - as my authority supercedes'
Further - chief commander means that they have final say over what happens, not who does it, authority in the military flows through a chain of command and simply being top dog does not define every single part of the command chain.
- The court finds the New Economic Plan's first clause under "Baseline Social Needs and Care" to be unconstitutional. By forcing workers above 65 to retire, it violates Article V Clause I of the constitution, which states "l. All Persons will be free from discrimination on the basis of gender, sex, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, social class, or age."
By this incredibly defunct definition of "discrimination" providing pensions to old people but not to 27 years olds would also be discrimination. Typical dipshit level reading comprehension.
- The court also finds New Economic Plan's "Legal Notes & Subsystems" Clause 4 to be unconstitutional. Clause 4, which states "4. NEP shall be passed as a normal bill under normal circumstances, but shall require a 75% national referendum to remove, or may be removed in coordination between Parliament, the Politburo, and the President." is unconstitutional due to Article I Section III Clause 1, which states "Parliament may pass laws via a simple majority of those who have voted within a 48 hour period of the presentation of any list of bills." The Constitution already provides a mechanism through which legal provisions may obtain protection from ordinary legislative amendment, which is constitutional amendment under Article VI, which the New Economic Plan is not listed under, and as such, the New Economic Plan's special protection is unconstitutional.
There is no specific portion of cited text that states passage cannot be different than removal within harpy condor.. Try again Printler.
- The court finds that "Legal Notes & Subsystems", Clause 2 is not unconstitutional under the constitution, but only applies to acts passed prior to the New Economic Plan.
Unreadable word slop.
Requested remedy:
A. Where the fuck is the investigation on Prince's misbehavior u/ViktorChernov that request was sent weeks ago.
B. Formal appeal and removal of changes to NEP.
Title
The End to the Reign of Terror Act
Sponsors: u/theslavicbattlemage

Subsection 1: Age
Subsection 2: Literacy
Subsection 3: Lawsuits

Oversight shall be handled by Moderators, the Politburo, or whomever within the executive the President tasks with oversight.
This act may be amended or struck down by simple majority.
This Act shall take effect immediately upon passage by Parliament and approval by the President.
ADDENDUM 1: Changed rule to be "must be literate"
What I remember about the rise of The Communist Party is... is how quiet it was. During the early hours of the 9th Presidency, the Internal Affairs 01st Division was discreetly transferred back to Callens. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Callens, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Communist Party Head Quarters. Not a word.
"I don't know - the name internal affairs isn't great - and a lot of our agents were injured on that last raid..."
[Indecipherable]
"Yes I agree that costs have been high - but replacing agents is also expensive"
[Indecipherable]
"Exactly, what if we arm these people to the teeth. Give em' some talons. Something sharp that makes these guys think 'I don't know about tangling with them' "
[Indecipherable]
"Yes, the rachelgrad arms rifles do have a very 'unique' sound - the troops have been calling them 'screamers' "
[Indecipherable]
"Well- if the Executive is going to pay for it... yes Comrade Woolf, I agree... a rifle in every hand yes..."
[Indecipherable]
"what about... here's the tagline 'let loose a thousand screaming harpies upon our enemies' the news will love it"
[Indecipherable]
"It's not an advertisement for cereal... it isn't supposed to 'sound good to the family voter' it's supposed to scare old rich fucks into not defrauding the government"
[Indecipherable]
"Alright, alright, I'll chat with you at the next meeting... yes... see you"
Well, this morning has been a busy morning for the folks here at the Politburo. We have a large series of investment plans ready and set for expanding our agenda of full collectivization.
So - let me be clear - we are performing all of the following legislation for this new Period.
This revolution is imperative, the cost of failure could not be higher, and the importance of ensuring a better future - devoid of the current failures of capitalism - is higher than ever.
Therefore we intend to do the following:
Constitutional Overhaul.
The Proletariat Bill of Rights.
A series of legislation expanding and guaranteeing the rights of women.
Reconstruction of Eosara - along with reparations to the original inhabitants of Eosara and Synths.
The transfer of state control over all utilities.
The end of the sale of land, capital, and new enterprise.
Expanding the incentive system for collectivization.
Expanding agrarian capacity throughout all provinces to reduce current low crop diversity.
An ecological bill of rights - to ensure a bright and healthy future for the DoR today and the DoR tomorrow.
Immediate efforts to break away from the broad use of plastics, fossil fuels, and other major ecologically damaging substances in government funding and procurement.
A series of defenses aimed at ensuring the DoR's progress is safe and secure moving forward.
A legitimization and incorporation effort for certain militias to officialize their actions and ensure a system of fair oversight.
We choose to do these things, and the other things, not because they are easy - but because they are hard.
We choose to do the hard work of legislating - because while it requires effort - there is no greater feeling than to enjoy the fruits of our own labor, and labor is entitled to all it creates!
Under Blu's final EO - all government properties and facilities went up for sale between the election and stella's EO ending the sales.
During this period - the Beacon Worker's Union and MARS ltd, moved to purchase the entire existing power grid.
As a result, each citizen of the DoR will receive a check of roughly 18 cR.
This was the only purchase we allowed to run through, but it includes ALL electrical production and transmission etc equipment.
We have halted and will not recognize ANY additional federal purchases - stop asking!
Hello,
The Politburo is now issuing a total of 10,000,000 cR in BONDS, with a maturation date of 2 years [IRL 2 months] at 4%
Please reach out if you would like to purchase BONDS in DoRia.
Please make sure your request to purchase does not exceed your liquid assets or your yearly income!
With the establishment of the NEP and Politburo under EepyStella, the following tools are now being rolled out:
Business Registration Form [MANDATORY] - This is to give us an outline of all businesses, get GM sign off, and get them on the WIKI
Treasury Tracker! Check it out! - This is to give us a way to track what we spend. It will show us what the DoR has "at the end" of a fiscal period and we can just add on to the bottom and keep going.
"excuse me, uh, Comrade Sachem" The man was in a clean cut black suit, almost too clean, some kind of uniform styling.
Slavic looked at the man from where he was standing in the press briefing room in the Rose Palace, he wasn't the center of attention, not at the podium - but he was fielding questions about NEP with his usual ironic, irritated, and confrontational candor.
"I'm talking to all my favorite people right now, is this urgent?" the sarcasm was clear and not veiled, some of the reporters - used to dealing with Slavic - chuckled, at least he was in a good mood today.
*"*Yes, it is very urgent" The man was now flanked by a well dressed elven woman, black suit, and another man - possibly a synth? - also black suit. 'Three? just for me?'
*"*What's this all about-" Slavic begins walking with them as the elf addresses the small crowd 'Comrade Sachem will be heading out for the day, I can take any message on his behalf - or you can forward calls and questions to his office. Ah! Yes, you go ahead...' her voice fades out as Slavic is ushered out and handed a stack of papers EO-09 005, EO-09 006 "Eee oh, zero nine- what is this?" The agents flag a blacked out sturdy vehicle "You'll be needed at command" the synth says.
"Command!?"
It was a silent trip... having read the papers Slavic knew what was likely to happen. What he was about to do. Did he harbor any doubts? Any final thoughts? Perhaps, but on that car ride not a word was said. Not when he boarded his helicopter, not when he arrived at the People's Army Head Quarters, and not when internal affairs reached out about his new role.
"I'm sure it'll take you a moment to get used to things" Stella's voice was garbled somewhat over the helicopter phone "but there's no one I trust more to run the Politburo"
"This wasn't the plan, Viktor was supposed to run the Politburo not me-" Stella interrupts Slavic, her irritation clear as she speaks "You didn't want to compromise, and you wanted to push NEP, Viktor is busy being the one functional judge in the damn court - I need you to do the job I give you"
Slavic, fumbled around in his coat pocket "Ok, ok I get it, I should, well I guess I should thank you for your confidence anyhow, Comrade st- President" finally finding his cigarette packet, he takes one out "just give me a day or two, I need a smoke break to settle in" Internal Affairs officer Shrew shifts in his seat, while looking out the window.
"Fine, you have one day, no more" Stella clicks the phone and Slavic leans back, cigarette drooping on his lip "Get me Polytopia on the phone would you? I need to organize some things"
(OORP: I have some big work projects I need to settle out this week and I intend to be more active after tomorrow's work day ends. I am greatly enjoying the many fights about NEP we are having and I look forward to returning when my work stress isn't making me crabby and irritable!)
The Communist Party platform from here on out is simple:
We are going to get off the tracks of anarcho-capitalism chaos nonsense and onto the the tracks of a normal modern socialist nation.
Smoothly
The way we intend to do that is with simple but effective laws that "flesh out" the inner workings of the DoR, while making those inner workings distinctly Socialist and Communist aligned. Yes there will be things like "money" for now, and there will be some imperfections but we are going to get this country running smoothly.
Now some within and without my party are taking smooth to mean reformist - let me assure everyone all involved. That will not be the case. NEP is the beginning, a bright future lies ahead of us, the Sovnarkom has many plans and we - The Communist Party - shall march together!
We are going to do socialism and communism. Not the milquetoast chaos of yester-year - NO! This republic will be red and we encourage our friends in the opposition to work *with* us if they want to, but this is our show for right now and we intend to keep it that way.
"NEP hurts people who just live on a small family plot by taxing them at 95%"
NEP specifically defines land owners as those who own more than 20 acres that they use primarily for renting out. Tenant farming and share cropping is an abhorrent and wasteful economic practice. 95% of the profits *should* go back to the community.
"Taxes are so high they hurt businesses!"
NEP establishes that taxes are post expenses by taxing only profits. If a business is struggling and makes no profit, it has nothing to worry about. A business owner should pay themselves from the company coffers (lowering company profits) and reinvest the remainder if they want to avoid paying high corporate tax rates - or better yet, they should collectivize.
"NEP scraps landlording!"
Yes, it eliminates the abuse of the housing market as a space for speculative gambling. Landlords do not generate a product, they COST the economy money. A landlord who increases your rent has generated NOTHING but inflation as that cost gets sent up to the employer, the grocery store, and everywhere else as workers struggle to make ends meet. Landlords are not smart investors, they are putting up a toll booth on an existing product - housing.
Landlording is not a product or service, it is a leech on the economy and should be burned off like a leech.
"NEP is hard to remove!"
Yes, Same-Cabinet, god bless him, proved that the right wing would vote to remove healthcare, pensions, and basic safety without a second thought. In two months folks living in orphanages, care homes, or receiving care at hospitals could DIE OR BECOME HOMELESS if some dumbass repeals it without thinking.
Pensions should be hard to remove. They are an essential system for the elderly and the needy.
"NEP creates an unelected bureaucracy to manage the economy"
NEP outlines the responsibilities of an unelected body that manages the economy. As the economic minister - I already have the same powers and authority listed in the Politburo and I am also unelected in that position. The politburo formalizes that the executive OR the politburo is responsible for enforcing the systems within the NEP - that's it.
Government bureaucracies are never elected. They are a system for ensuring politics turns into reality. Meteorologists aren't elected. Fed Officers aren't elected. The DMV employees aren't elected.
FINALLY,
I strongly encourage folks to read all 5,000 words - much of which I know isn't being read by folks who want to find issues to argue in bad faith. This is the most comprehensive economic proposal in DoR history - and it may have issues in it we should remedy, but we will never do that if everyone picks a tribe and argues in bad faith.
Establishes and funds orphanages.

Establishes retirement payments and an agency to oversee them.

Establishes nursing homes and care facilities.

Establishes a hospital in every major city.

Creates social insurance.

Creates a budget baseline in the event that the government fails to create a budget (very common).

Creates a basic tax code

Creates a single organized structure for paying the military.

Creates public administrators - which literally every government on the planet has. Which are yes, unelected. The officials at the DMV are also unelected. The officials at your local passport office are unelected. The Federal reserve? Which controls the money supply? Unelected. Unelected officials form the bulk of most administrative functions in every government on Earth.

Eliminates Landlording!

Eliminates homelessness!

So I don't know

- maybe NEP is evil, or maybe you didnt read it -
