Come clean me out!

I recently picked up a Standard Pro Plus Top with the ProBuckers and push-pull volume pots to split the coils. I don't particularly care for coil splits and much prefer the series/parallel switching I have in some of my other guitars. There's just one problem - it requires clipping the leads and almost a total rewire.of the guitar to pull off (no pun intended) because of the otherwise awesome quick connects and PCB signal routing on the push-pull pots.

I was toying with the idea of designing a wiring kit so I'd only need to remove the current push-poll pots and drop in new ones. Would anyone be interested in this?

I was riding down to the beach in IB on Saturday evening for fireworks, and the bag I mounted to my bike came off with our bike locks inside - bumpy ride, I guess. It was a black nylon MOLLE pouch with two brand new Kryptonite chain locks inside. I think it would have happened somewhere on Coronado Ave, Seacoast, or on the beach south of the IB pier.

I already retraced my route Sunday morning and couldn't find it. I would think it was too heavy for the tide to pull into the ocean, so maybe they got buried in the sand or someone picked them up. It's a long shot, I know!

I just got a new multiscale 8 string with some no-name soapbars. The routes are about 100mm by 40mm. They sound fine to me, but they're only 2 conductor, so I can't do the series/parallel switching I like.

Am I seeing this right? There's pretty much Seymour Duncan, Fishman Fluence, and EMG? And I'm stuck using soapbars?

For about 20 years, I only ever played a 6 string in E, Eb, and drop D. About 3 years ago, I got my first 7 string. In the last 6 months, I've added another 7 string, 27" baritone and now a multiscale (25.4"-27") 8 string. I love it but I've had to make a lot of adjustments!

• Pickup replacement and height changes seem to make an even bigger difference - a wooly guitar pickup can sound good in standard tuning, but too much low end on low tunings is awful
• I had to learn how to set gain and EQ all over again - less is more with dirt and bass!
• I find myself making small changes in gauge with every re-string to get the right feel, a lot more than I ever did with a standard tuning
• ... which leads to spending more time setting action and intonation
• My clip-on tuner can't seem to pick up lower notes, which makes it more difficult to set intonation, not to mention tuning in general

What other considerations are unique to extended range guitars?
