What is going on with the Spam in messages?!

I've been engineering a few books for about 4 months and haven't been auditioning. I submitted a couple auditions and uploaded a couple samples yesterday and RIP my inbox. I am getting messages from so many people who seem to believe I am the perfect fit for every project they have to offer! None via ACX though. I am reporting them all as spam, but what in the world is going on with the platform?!
ACX is a notoriously poorly made web application, but they don't seem to have even basic spam safeguards in place. Is this our new normal?

Plumb Pros (Arvada) charged us $759 for a $50 part during the heat wave

Wanted to warn other Arvada folks before you need AC repair. I called Plumb Pros (on 52nd Ave) when our AC died during the July 2026 heat wave. Tech diagnosed a bad capacitor, replaced it, no complaints about the actual repair. Then handed us a bill for $759.

Breakdown: $474 for the capacitor (these run $15-50 retail), $285 for a "diagnostic fee" after telling us the service call was free. Whole job took under an hour.

My wife is a night shift nurse, trying to sleep during the day, and was home alone, exhausted, just wanted the AC back on, so she signed. I called after to ask about the pricing and they told me flat out that's just what they charge and they're not changing it.

Fair price for this whole job (capacitor + labor) should've been $200-400. We got charged almost double the high end of that.

Posting this mostly so people know to ask for an itemized quote and maybe get a second opinion before agreeing to anything, especially if it's 95+ out and you just want it fixed. Invoice attached below if anyone wants to see the actual numbers.

Anyone have a company they've actually had good luck with? Looking for recommendations too.

My go to guy has been doing ALL of our HVAC repairs for about 17 years. In this specific situation I was forced to try to find a new reputable company. I chose incorrectly and want to warn you all about this company.

Cool spots in Arvada

I have lived in Arvada for 21 years now. And only today I found out about Thundercloud Park. It’s this crazy beautiful park on top of Hackberry Hill. I’m wondering if you fellow Arvadans have other hidden spots around town that are worth just checking out. They could be places like Majestic View or fun places to drive through or see. I just wonder how many more of these spots I still haven’t discovered even after all this time.

Limb drop off this weekend

If you go to drop off tree limbs today or tomorrow. Enter from the west side. You will save about a half hour or more. No one is directing traffic so the right turn people get in faster than left turn people when entering.
It’s busy.
