Hamilton teachers!

I recently found out I was accepted to teachers college for j/i and would really love to go into teaching. I currently work but really dislike what I do so I plan on leaving anyway. Financially I am okay to go back to school but I’m hesitant to accept because of what I keep hearing from teachers everywhere. I was hoping that any teachers from this community could comment on things like how often there are supply jobs, LTOs, permanent positions, etc. I would be okay to supply teach for a few years if needed but I want to know if there are even positions for that.
I have young kids and really need to be certain this is the right decision for my family. I’m passionate about teaching but I also know the field is different than what it used to be. If anyone has any advice I’d greatly appreciate it.

Would you advise someone to quit their job right now and become a teacher?

I work at one of the big banks with good benefits and okay pay but I really dislike my job. Planning on leaving regardless. I don’t have a lot of transferrable skills and have always wanted to be a teacher so I thought maybe this was the time to do it. I applied and just found out I was accepted off the waitlist for j/i. I have young kids and I’m second guessing myself since everyone seems to dislike being a teacher these days. I’m in the Hamilton/niagara area and have been asking around and doing my own research but I’m not sure what to do.
I know the program is going back to one year next year but I’m honestly not sure I’d get in again since my grades are not competitive. It sort of feels like now or never. But going into a program for 2 years with no pay really has to make sense.
Any advice or thoughts you have would be so appreciated.

TLDR; I want to become a teacher and was accepted. Do I leave a safe but disliked job to pursue it in today’s teaching climate
