Does your significant other resents you for being fit?

Recently my wife has made some comments about “struggling to keep up with me”, and wishes that “I’d let go so she didn’t feel like she has to keep up”.

My wife has always been in good shape and I have never pressured her to look a certain way. When I asked her to elaborate, she said she doesn’t really care to be in shape and only does it so she wouldn’t feel judged by others. She seemed resentful.

I wonder if any of you have similar experiences

Edit: Some background. We have three kids under 10 and have been together for 13 years. She was a college athlete so she’s always been fit. I have always been fit as well, I’d say I’m super fit for my age now. We have always lived this lifestyle. She’s now a SAHM.
