Trump administration to dispense $600M for vaccines RFK Jr. held up

Concerned about this though: The statement also noted other reforms the U.S. requested that Gavi has now made: ending the promotion and procurement of Covid-19 vaccines for routine vaccination programs and downsizing staff in its Geneva headquarters.

Question about PAYE payment cap and PSLF eligibility

I'm hoping someone familiar with PAYE/PSLF can sanity-check something because I'm getting mixed information. Ill try to bold important info.

My spouse

Has federal Direct Loans (no consolidation).

Loans were taken out between 2016 and 2020.

Entered PAYE around 2021/2022.

Works full-time for a qualifying PSLF employer and currently has approximately 60–65 qualifying PSLF payments.

We recently received her annual PAYE recertification notice from MOHELA. It says that if she does not recertify by September 18, her monthly payment will adjust to $1,436.09.

Here's where I'm confused.

Our household AGI is approximately $406,000 (MFJ). When I calculate what an income-driven payment should be using our current income, I get something much closer to $2,900/month, not $1,436.

I called MOHELA, and the representative repeatedly stated that $1,436.09 is her PAYE payment cap, not a recalculated IDR payment. I specifically asked:

"Can you confirm that the $1,436.09 is my PAYE payment cap based on the 10-year Standard amount when I entered PAYE, and that I'm not being moved off PAYE?"

The representative said yes.

I then asked whether payments at that amount would continue to count toward PSLF, and they again said yes because she would still be on PAYE. Unfortunately, they would not provide anything in writing.

My questions are:

Does this sound correct to others who are familiar with PAYE?

Is it true that once your calculated IDR payment exceeds the PAYE payment cap, you simply pay the capped amount while remaining on PAYE?

If so, are those capped PAYE payments still fully PSLF-eligible?

Has anyone else been in this exact situation and successfully continued receiving PSLF credit while paying the PAYE cap?

I'm trying to understand whether I'm missing something or whether the payment cap is simply working as intended.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
