Bidet Pipes Leaking, any ideas?
I’ve been trying to help my friends install a bidet and it’s not going well.
First visit: Installed bidet. Next day they said it was leaking
Second visit: Uninstalled bidet. Replaced connecting pipe from wall to toilet. no leaks. Then, re installed bidet & double checked threading on all bidet pieces parts. one was cross threaded. I assumed that was the source of the leak. Next day they said it’s leaking still.
Third visit: Uninstall bidet. Reattach all normal parts of water shut off. No leaking with normal set up. Detach all connections in bidet piping & wrapped plumbing tape around threads. Wrapped plumbing tape around water shut off & replaced old plumbing tape on toilet connector part. I can see for myself; clearly still leaking, somehow even worse. I triple checked nothing was cross threaded. Everything was as tight as I could get it screwed on. I used a wrench for anything not plastic.
What am i doing wrong? Is there something faulty with the bidet? It almost looks as if it’s leaking from where the piping connects to the nut. I’m running out of trouble shooting ideas.
