Question on how to configure HDR

Should I be using the windows calibration tool to set it to my max monitor brightness or should I set it to something I find comfortable?

Such as my monitor is HDR 1000 but I definitely do not wanna be flash banged. And my monitor locks out the brightness option when In HDR mode at 100, so should I be dropping the brightness down in game by a lot to prevent an overly bright screen? I’m used to an SDR screen and prefer my brightness low at around the 30 percent mark. I’m just confused on how to use HDR properly

Monitor; INNOCN GA27T1M
So it’s definitely not a low budget monitor

Is IPS glow just unavoidable even with Mini Led?

I bought a new Mini Led IPS monitor a week or so ago, 1152 dimming zones and it is amazing compared to my former IPS panel. I upgraded to it because IPS glow drives me nuts but I LOVE the ability to use g sync and the smoothness of an IPS. The contrast and picture looks amazing on it, but even with local dimming set to the strongest setting I feel like I can always see just a bit of glow coming from the bottom left corner and sometimes the right side. It goes away completely on a black image but if I’m in a dark area in a game for reference it is just slightly visible, especially if I am off axis.

Now it is tremendously better than my last panel, and the IPS glow is incredibly reduced, but is it just impossible for manufacturers to get rid of it even with more dimming zones? Or maybe my monitor actually has a backlight bleed? I will attach some pics, in the pics it may be hard to see as well, I took some with the camera over exposed and some the exposure turned down to replicate what I see

And at the very end I included some pics of my old monitor to compare to my new Mini Led. Anyways based on my photos does my monitor look fine? Or should I consider a replacement?

For those asking the monitor is the INNOCN GA27T1M

Question about using hdr

When using hdr am I supposed to have brightness cranked all the way up or is it okay to lower the brightness in game per game? HDR just seems extremely bright but I also don’t want to lose the best image quality I can get

Ips mini led with full black screen

Benefits of an ips panel for adaptive sync with zero ips glow. All hail mini led

How bad is the flicker oled?

How bad is VRR flicker on OLED? Will I notice it if I cap my fps to 60 with g sync and have a perfect frame time? I really want to try it out but I’m scared to burn that much money, and IPS has no flickering but the image isn’t as good. I mainly wanna have a really nice picture for the new AC black flag remake when it comes out in a few weeks.

What is happening? Why is this area so choppy?

Been playing the last of us part 2, rock solid 60 fps. Since becoming Abby I’ve noticed in two sections despite having a perfect frame time in certain lighting it gets choppy (may not be able to tell in the video but in person it’s very noticable) when it has been perfectly smooth prior. Is this a game glitch or a poor monitor response time? It’s only in certain lighting

I hope we get more remakes

If black flag is a critical and commercial success for Ubisoft I really hope they start doing the capcom formula and remake all the classics. I would love a AC3 remake, and of course the Ezio trilogy remade would be awesome.

So much better

Just wanted to post this for those that have doubts, give it time! I’m one month and one week in, and I feel so much better! And I think there’s still more time before I even feel the maximum effects! My rumination and catastrophic thoughts were actually ruining my life, and now I feel normal again and am happy! I can enjoy playing video games again, I enjoy going to events again. I don’t know why I ever stopped taking this drug two years ago, but getting back on it has genuinely saved my life.

Woke up feeling awful today

Tomorrow is one month total, 9 days on 5mg and 10mg for the rest. I can definitely feel a good reduction in anxiety compared to before i started, but today I just woke up feeling awful, anxious and depressed. Tomorrow is week 3 of 10mg, my doctor said fluctuating is normal and to give it more time.

I can’t stop ruminating and hyper focusing on the worst case scenarios. Should I ask for an increase in dosage?

Day 21 progress update

Day 21 in total, day 11 of 10mg after 10 on 5mg. I’m starting to feel a little better/lighter. Still have quite a bit of rumination that I’m hoping will eventually fade or quiet down. Luckily my anxiety has definitely had the edge taken off, and I can function at work again, but I’m hoping it will eventually help even more.

I suffer heavily from catastrophic thoughts, and think the absolute worst case scenarios are going to happen. I’m hoping this will also help reduce that as well. I’m praying for brighter times ahead

Currently on Wellbutrin 150mg and 10mg Lexapro. Started on 5 for about 9 days before going to 10mg. I have an issue with thinking the absolute worst case scenario is destined to happen. Any type of minor issue my brain categorizes as a catastrophe and I feel like I’m in a fog for days. Will this help stop? Is there relief and light at the end of the tunnel?
