Did some handle modding to my Ontario Bushcraft Machete

I like this machete a lot but the stock handle shape was just a tab too wide for my mits. Took down the width 4-5mm and contoured the scales a bit more. Not crazy different but made a noticeable difference in hand

The Walmart Saga continues

So finally got to do some more "serious" chopping with the Swiss tech axe and used my CT boys axe as a comparison. To make a short story long, they're both 28" 2 1/4 boys axes. While the CT did cut better and wasn't as sticky, I'd put that down to the lower angled and more polished but. For the siss tech I pretty much filed it and that's it. Even the final edge was with the file (can do a surprisingly good edge). The sticky ness of the Swiss tech was almost definitely due to the coating on the head to stop rust. The CT felt keener after the chopping but the ST still skipped over my fingerprint ridges just fine.

All in all I still say the Swiss Tech is not a bad axe at all.

NKD - Viper Knives Trail designed by Jens Anso

Pretty damn good camp knife. Not really a bushcraft or "survival" knife, but like the name, a solid option for the trail. Can clear light vegetation, do some carving, probably work well for camp cooking, and while I didn't baton, it would definitely be fine for light to moderate batoninng. The rounded spine is extremely comfortable but will of course negate any fire steel striking. But this isn't really meant as that kind of knife.

Steel is N690 which is fine by me. Essentially 440c.

Leather sheath is well made and high quality leather.

The most likely problem someone is going to have is the handle being quite small for the size of knife. It fits fine in my hand but there are definitely gonna be people whose paws are just too big. A lanyard was definitely nice to have for some of the limbing and stuff.

The biggest pro for this knife is just how light it is for the blade length. It's listed at roughly 6.3 oz. Mine was just about 6.4oz. It is very carryable and will not weigh down your belt.

All in all I quite like it.
