Hi. Apprentice here. Just wondering. With isolator for industrial machine. Does it have to switch off the neutral as well? I have only done isolator for air con and inverter. I know air con both active and neutral and inverter only active.

Hi. Apprentice here. Mainly done solar n resi so far. Occasionally boss send me to factories to pull some 3p orange and install isolators or connect some machines. To my surprise. Many of them do not have rcd. (In resi every new install is on rcd). I am just wondering. Is it common for factories (food or manufacturing) to have machines (commercial fridge. 10kw compressor. Etc) on circuit breaker only but not on rcd? What happens say when there is a leak. Is the worker safe?

Hi. Apprentice here. Replacing lights and noticed when switch off. 1 switched active measures 50v vs neutral. Another one measures 150v vs neutral. Is that normal. I have only seen a few voltes of induced voltage. Both active measures 230v after switch turned on. Whats the cause of the 50v and 150v when turned off. Thanks. (Led lights are off when switched off. even the voltage measures 50v）

Hi apprentice here. Working a reno job. Found the extension room, lighting cable was round. Possible flex appliance wire. Still double insulated. Just wondering. Is that compliant in AS. Could not find a clause saying tps must be used.

Hi. Anyone used clipsal brass pin clip? When would u use it over the white plastic cable clip? And since it is metal, will it cause mechanical damage if i use it on 1.5mm 2.5mm tps?

Hi. Maybe stupid question. What does it mean by led downlight with remote driver? Does it still have a ac plug and driver? What does remote mean in this context.

I have only seen led down light with a driver and 230v plug with it.

As title, i think the old firmware battery force charge ignores import limit, but new firmware force discharge stays under import limit (dynamic control). Could someone with the experience confirm?

Hi. Apprentice here. With the 2 way switch. The wiring between the 2 switches. The boss used a twin. But I think he only needs a single, because the tps already contains a active? Is my understanding correct?

Edit. Found there are 2 methods. Can be SDI or twin active between the 2 switches. Thanks.

Hi, just wondering, after installing the Gen3 wall charger, scanning the qr code prompts to download the tesla one app to commission the wall charger, there are two options, tesla employee and tesla partner, but I am a customer, which one do I choose?

Hi, any EV charger guys here? Apprentice here. Just wanted to confirm with EV charger, Type B RCD is required right? (around $500 for 40a instead of $30 for type A).

Reason I ask is that I have seen some EV charger installs only use plain Type A RCD. But AS 3000 says Mode 3 charging requires type B.

Hi, apprentice here, just wondering, EV charger is not considered an appliance right? So the rule that BESS has to be 600mm away from an appliance does not apply to EV charger, right?

EDIT: EV charged is a different brand to the BESS, AC coupled in the switchboard.
