Does the GR2 ever get easier to use?

I keep switching back & forth between a heritage 21L GR1 & 26L GR2 and it’s like I need something in between. (I have a GR1 26L & it’s too long for daily use & feels weird when loaded. I’m a 5 foot woman). I really like the organization of the GR2 but omg it’s taking so long to break in I’m wondering if it ever will. I’ve used it for a month ish. The zippers are tough to unzip in a hurry & it’s not stretching enough to let me use the front pocket for a water bottle easily. Those are my 2 main complaints. I use my backpack at a horse farm & I’m always in a hurry to get the horses fed & stalls cleaned etc. When I need something I need it quick & I get frustrated with the GR2. The GR1 is great but I need just a little more room. 🙃 Those of you who’ve had the GR2 for years will it loosen up & stretch more?
UPDATE - Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve reloaded it & redistributed my stuff in such a way that I can much more easily use the front pocket for a water bottle bc there’s nothing pushing on it from inside. I’ll get some zipper lube & I think that will go a long way to making the bag easier to use

Thoughts?

I googled quickly while working & didn’t find anything on a Two Rose Coal Co in Hellier. Did anyone else search & have any luck?

Show me your cursed boat & totes

This weekend a new LLBean store opened in my town & they brought a couple hundred returned totes from the outlet. I think I spent more time digging through that bin than looking at anything else or trying on clothes. I passed on this absolutely cursed bag on Friday, could not stop thinking about it all night & came back for it Saturday. I have so many questions for whoever ordered it. How did you get them to embroider like that on the left side?? And why didn’t you want what you ordered???

Please show me the gems you have found in the return bins or you ordered yourself

I got a GR2 26L during the sale & I forgot you literally have to break them in like new boots

The Everglades camo GR1 was my first Goruck last year & I got it without really having a huge need for it as opposed to any other backpack. But this spring I took over the daily care of some horses & suddenly I not only needed it I needed more organization. I had zero plans to upgrade but the sale got me. I loaded the new one & thought oh no it’s so stiff & almost seems smaller, then I remembered that the 1000 denier ones have to be carried for a while before they stretch & get softer. I’m sure I’ll get used to the new one & it will break in & get comfortable to carry but I’m weirdly sad to put away my colorful old friend

Has anyone ever used a little pool pump to circulate water in a water trough?

We have a stock tank pool at home & I constantly wonder why no one has invented a filtration system to circulate water in livestock troughs similar to aquarium pumps. My husband asked well why couldn’t you use a pool pump & I couldn’t think of a reason why not. You can set them on a timer to circulate only when you want, so like for a couple hours a day or whatever. Yes you’d use electricity but it seems like especially in drier areas you’d rather use electricity than have to dump it out more frequently to clean it, if you could keep the water circulating a bit. Our pool at home works just fine with the intake & return hoses hanging over the side, no holes needed to be cut in the tank. You’d obviously need to place the pump where the horses couldn’t get to it & situate it where you could place the hoses under a board nailed to the fence or something. Just wondering if anyone has done anything like this

Josh Owens book

I borrowed The Madness of Believing from the library after seeing a recommendation for it on this sub. It genuinely is a good book for those interested in the inner workings of infowars although quite a bit of it is focused on Josh making excuses for how he stumbled into this role after very specifically entering a contest to be hired there. This is what Alex drunkenly said to his employees at the dinner table on the eve of the 2016 election’s inauguration when he found out his pregnant wife’s baby might have microcephaly. I laughed out loud then felt bad for laughing bc poor kid having to be AJ’s child regardless of medical diagnosis 🫤

Trying to cancel, getting error message

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership and I keep getting the message: Error Code NSES-500

Is there any way around this? I can’t find a chat feature or anything like that. This feels deliberate like they’re trying to stop people from canceling

I’ve been a religious listener of KF for so long I haven’t investigated what other similar podcasts might exist. Is there anything comparable in content if not entertainment value, covering & debunking right wing grifters?
