Is my moss stitch blanket swirling or is it just me? Can blocking fix this?

Hi everyone! I just finished this moss stitch baby blanket and I noticed it looks like it's swirling a little. I used the multicolor acrylic Caron cakes. I know granny squares can swirl bc they're made in the round, is that the same problem here? If so I don't really understand how I would turn between rounds as I worked via a spiral and didn't join between rounds. Maybe a tension issue?

Is this something I can do to fix this for the next blanket or by blocking? Thanks in advance! :)

Hawk ID (Near Chicago)

Hi everyone! My mom saw this smallish hawk the other day and we're totally stumped on what it is. We're thinking it's maybe a juvenile light morph Broad Winged Hawk, or maybe a Red Shouldered Hawk, but the light head doesn't seem to match with any hawks we know of around here. If it helps, this was taken next to a flood plain, so kind of a marshy habitat next to the river. Thanks in advance! ☺️

Any disabled birders here? I want to go birding more but I find my disability limiting. Any adaptations/suggestions?

Hi yall! I have a disability that mainly affects my ability to walk or stand for long periods of time as well as carrying heavier things like big binoculars or a telephoto lens and camera. Looking for certain birds like warblers that like to hang out at the tops of trees are a little challenging too. I tried taking my DSLR and a smaller telephoto lens the other day and that was pretty difficult from the weight on my neck from the camera strap.

I have a BirdBuddy so I can at least see birds in my feeder and I do a lot of bird-listening from my windows at home, but I'd love to be able to go out more and see birds for myself.

Any fellow disabled birders here? Do you make any changes to make birding a bit easier for you? Any suggestions would be great ☺️ Thanks!

Making my first granny squares project. Should I block the individual squares before joining or block the whole thing after joining?

Hi everyone! The title is pretty self explanatory. Do I block before or after joining the individual granny squares? If it makes a difference I'm making a throw pillow cover. Thanks! ❤️
