Is this a problem?

I replaced my bottom bracket. The brand is bucklos 122.5/68mm. I measured my old bottom bracket and the new one (bucklos) is around 2-3mm shorter than the one that I'm replacing. The manual that came with it says a difference of 3-5mm will not be a problem so I proceeded installing it. The drive side sits perfectly however, when I put the non-drive side, it went deeper and the thread of the frame is exposed. Will this be a problem in the future? Is there a way to fix this? Is biking now unpopular in the Bronx?

To start with, I don't see much people use bikes although the bike lanes in most parts are amazing. But the bike lanes are dead even in the morning. I went to like 6 different bicycle shops and you can barely buy parts that you need or the colors you want. I asked store guys about the brands and they were like "wtf is that?". Anyway, does anyone know which bike shops in the bronx has the biggest, widest options for bike parts? Thanks y'all!
