I've been telling this story for decades. I went to university in Sheffield and from 1992 to 1994 I worked as a steward at Bramall Lane.
Locals took the jobs where you could actually watch the game, so I manned exit gate C on the Kop. Nothing happened at all during the time I worked there except one thing late on in the 93/94 season. A lad tumbled down the steps at the back of the Kop and hurt his knee. I summoned the St John's and realised that for the first time EVER I would have to make a written report in the notebook that I had been ordered to keep on me for two whole years! So I asked the lad his name. He said his name was Martin Fell. So my report was three words only "Martin Fell fell." I got told off for being a clever student c**t by my supervisor - who I recall was also a bouncer at Cairo Jax.
Obviously now as a 50-something I realise I should have simply written "Martin Fell" (also, I now have my doubts after all these years that his first name was Martin, it could have been something different)
So my question is... Is there a 40-something Blades fan, with the surname Fell, who remembers falling down the steps at Bramall Lane near the end of the 93/94 season when they were a lad?
