KNY: Tengen and Tanjiro tank Gyutaro’s explosion.
So in order to show that I’m not (at least completely) biased towards Jujutsu Kaisen in powerscaling, and also just for fun, I figured I’d do a Demon Slayer calc. More specifically, finding the out how powerful Tengen and Tanjiro needed to be to tank the explosion from Gyutaro in the entertainment district arc.
The explosion itself is around 6.645 kilotons of TNT if we go by the manga.
Tengen:
6645/(4pi((3.8)^2)) = 36.61996526
36.61996526(1.15) = 42.11 Tons of TNT
Tanjiro:
6645/(4pi((8.55)^2)) = 7.233573386
7.233573386(0.835) = 6.04 Tons of TNT
Results:
Tengen tanks an explosion - 42.11 tons of TNT (City block level)
Marked Tanjiro tanks an explosion - 6.04 tons of TNT (Large building level)
If Gyutaro does indeed scale to his own explosion then Tanjiro and Tengen would scale much higher than the results that I’ve given, but I personally don’t think that’s the case, or if it is it should only work as a high end/if KE is applicable. But anyway, that’s just my opinion, what do you guys think?
JJK Maki reacts to a rubber bullet.
Don’t worry guys, I swear that once I get good enough at calculating, I’ll stop using other people’s calcs as a basis.
Anyway, here’s a calc of Maki’s reaction speed to Mai’s rubber bullet.
The actual bullet catch from what I know is only around Mach 0.3-0.5, but we can get the distances to calc her reaction time and see if it’s any higher.
According to this calc, the rubber bullet travelled around 0.702m before the panel where maki notices it.
Rubber bullets travel around 134.112 m/s at a low end and 220 m/s at a high end.
Low end timeframe: 0.702/134.112 = 0.00523 seconds or around Mach 0.5 (Subsonic+ perception)
High end timeframe: 0.702/220 = 0.00319 seconds or around Mach 0.9 (Transonic perception)
I don’t know if her C/R speed would scale to this, but it could serve as a good basis for grade 2-1 perception speed. But anyway, what do you guys think works better as far as the low or high end?
JJK: Ultimate Mechamaru’s Ultimate Energy (Recalc)
This calc is based on this other calc, which seems to be good for the most part. The only problem is that the 300 to 600 ton of TNT values used are referring to Panda’s durability as opposed to the output of Mechamaru’s cursed energy. For this calc, I will be using the 1.88 kiloton value from this other calc for Mechamaru’s energy.
I will also be using the 15 second timeframe since that is what was shown in the anime.
I understand that this is probably calc stacking, and if so I apologize, but heck it we ball I guess. This is mostly for fun, anyway.
1884.36 x 4 x 525,600 = 3,961,678,464 Tons of TNT (3.96 Gigatons of TNT)
1 year - 3.96 Gigatons of TNT (Large mountain level+)
2 years - 7.92 Gigatons of TNT (Island level)
5 years - 19.8 Gigatons of TNT (Island level)
Total stored energy over 17 years - 67.34 Gigatons of TNT (Island level+)
Disclaimer: It should be noted that this level of scaling is only possible under special circumstances, that being Mechamaru’s accumulation of cursed energy over the course of his life. The only characters who scale to/close to this level of power normally would probably be the Calamity grade characters.
Just started watching the creepy cast, when does the apple on a stick show up?
Primarchs as random text posts I’ve saved over the years, part 2 of ??.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Hamami Blitzes Jujutsu High Students.
This is a redo of the Hanami Calc listed here. It’s pretty good, but the problem is that using peak human reaction speed seems a bit low given that low tier JJK characters are consistently capable of subsonic level feats, such as this one and this one. so I figured I would throw my hat in the ring with this.
In the calc, we get a movement value of 11.972965 meters.
Low end using subsonic perception: 11.972965/.0291 = 411.442 m/s or Mach 1.19 (Supersonic)
High end using Todo perception: 11.972965/0.01 = 1,197.297 or Mach 3.49 (Supersonic+)
IDK which end works better.
Question about angular sizing
So I’m trying to do angular sizing for the first time to figure out how much higher this ice block is than Kashimo in order to figure out its size (more info in my previous post) and I’m honestly not quite sure what I’m doing tbh. The first picture is about as far as I got. If there’s anyone who can help me figure this out, I would be truly grateful and I’ll definitely give credit when I make the full calc.
Edit: I did hear some people in my previous post say it was around 300-400 meters up, but I just want to be certain before I get started on the main calc.
Is there a way to calculate how high up Uraume’s ice block is using Kashimo’s distance from the ground?
So I’m trying to do a re-calc for Uraume’s ice block creation, and I noticed that in the manga, Kashimo is stated to be 203 meters off of the ground. Using the panel where he looks up at the ice block, is there some kind of equation or calculation method that can be used to determine how much higher the ice block is than him? I believe if we get the height of said ice, it can help improve the calc’s accuracy. If anyone has an answer, I would be very grateful, thanks.
JJK: Naoya’s speed exceeds his base durability.
This calc could be extremely wrong (and if it is I’ll fix it), but I’m gonna try anyway.
So in chapter 194 of JJK, Naoya’s speed is stated to be extreme enough to be at risk of damaging his body without properly armoring himself. I wanted to see if I can calculate that today, so that’s what I’ll be doing.
I’m not sure if I should use Kinetic energy or a wind resistance formula for this, but if it’s the latter, I’ll do an alternate calc in a follow up post using wind resistance.
Starting with Naoya’s durability, he is compared to Hanami as being not all that tough, so I’ll use Large building level (2 tons of TNT) as a low end, City block level (11 tons of TNT) as a mid end, and Multi city block level (100 tons of TNT) as a high end, because I know there are some JJK metas that get grade 1 level characters to around MCB-Small Town.
For his mass, let us say around 80 kg, although it could be higher.
KE Formula for velocity: square root of (KE/(1/2)m)
Large building end: square root of (8.368e+9J/(1/2)80) = 14463.74 m/s or Mach 42.16 (High Hypersonic)
City Block End: square root of (4.602e+10J/(1/2)80) = 33920.49 m/s or Mach 98.89 (High Hypersonic+)
Multi City Block End: Square root of (4.184e+10J/(1/2)80) = 102274.14 m/s or Mach 298.17 (Massively Hypersonic)
I’m not sure which end works best, so I’ll leave that up for discussion. Also sorry if the formatting is terrible, I’m writing these calcs down in my notes app, but I’ll hopefully find an alternative soon.
JJK: MBA Kashimo’s kinetic energy recalc.
Firstly, thank you guys for the support on my previous post, but it turns out I used the wrong formula and there’s a whole other one specifically for relativistic speed, so I will be redoing the calculation with that. Also I will try to be a bit more specific with the c to m/s conversion.
Relativistic KE formula: KE = m0c2(√(1 − v2/c2) − 1)
MBA Kashimo’s speed: 33363335.1872 m/s, or 0.111288 c (relativistic).
Kashimo’s mass: 70 kg (low end) to 80 kg (high end).
Adding the values into this calculator because I’m not entirely certain how to write it all out, we get:
Low end: 39324505105564838 J or 9.39 megatons of TNT (City level)
High end: 44942291549216957 J or 10.74 megatons of TNT (City level)
Not too different from the previous result, but it should be more accurate hopefully.
So in the JJK manga, I’m pretty sure it’s stated that Curse Naoya’s speed is so intense that he cannot handle it with his base durability. Would I use KE to calculate his speed, or would this require some kind of special wind resistance formula that I’m unaware of, since he technically isn’t colliding with anything except the air around him? If anyone would be able to help me with this, I would be truly grateful.
