Labor Day traffic

OK, it's been a while since I've lived in Maryland and I'm wondering if Labor Day traffic is as bad as it was 10 years ago. I'm coming back to visit for my birthday which just happens to fall near Labor Day. I've been landlocked in Indiana for the past 4 of those years and I NEED to see the water. Thanks in advance!!

AITAH for not wanting to drive 2 hours each way to pick up a friend for a party

So, my husband is throwing a 50th birthday party for me back in MD (I live in Indiana now) with my family. I really didn't want to do it but he is so dead set on it I don't want to break his heart. It's going to be a really small gathering, probably less than 15 people since I don't really speak to a lot of my family. I invited a friend who I have been friends with since high school. She has never driven and lives an hour away from where we're having the party. That's 2 hours round trip when we'll already have driven 10+ hours the day before.

She is emotionally and mentally still a teenager. All she talks about is the stuff we used to do back when we were young and stupid. Frankly it's irritating but I deal with it because she's too sweet to be mean to. She asked if she could stay the night with me like we were kids again. I don't know how to tell her that I really just don't feel like picking her up, spending the day and then pretty much all the next day with her. She's very clingy and I'm already going to be stressed out having to deal with my dad and his wife. Dad had a stroke and is not completely "there" and his wife is crazy and clingy too. I'm getting stressed just typing this 🙄

TL/DR: How do I tell a friend who gets easily insulted that I don't want to drive 2 hours each way to pick her up for a party that she's probably not going to have any fun at?
