I constructed a fully fictional WNBA League!

Scenario: YearzeroWNBA

Back with another fictional multiverse, technically this doesn’t count as myNBA but it’s WNBA and I really enjoyed making this one. Don’t know who’d be interested but feel free to check it out if you’d like to 👍

•This league has 20 teams. I want to give credit to (EliReedThatGuy) because the non IRL expansion teams regarding the team branding and uniforms for the comets, utah , belles, sol, rockers, and detroit were not made by me. It was just a scenario I found because I tried manually making more expansion teams but my game would just crash, and his expansion teams look great and work fine; so whoever you are, thank you 🫡. The individual players on each team are all from my save though.

•The roster makeup of each team has a unique set of players, and most importantly the tendencies for the players on each squad are customized to match their ratings.

I mainly focused on the 3point shot tendencies in particular, as players who low 3pt ratings shouldn’t shoot any of them in game or during simulation. Aesthetically I customized most of the players, but feel free to change any of the signature animations as some of the jump shots for players might be too slow. There’s also customized coaches, although the ratings for the coaches are pretty low.

*The cap space should continuously go up each year and every player should demand more and more money within sim years. My main gripe with this mode is how terrible the prospects are, and it lessens the experience but for starters I edited certain prospects to give them slightly higher ratings.

-The general settings and gameplay settings/sliders are curated by me, but if you don’t like them feel free to change it to your liking.

Thank you to anyone who even read this breakdown or if they decided to check this scenario out, much appreciated and let me know what you think if you give it a try.

MyNBA Mode improvement suggestions

For fun just wanted to air out my thoughts on what changes should be made regarding MyNBA, they sure as hell won’t happen but it’s fun to imagine it lol

1. Fixing the draft classes and auto-generated players in general

**-**This first photo is a great example of what’s wrong with draft classes. This is just a regular auto generated class from the main menu, why is every top rated player already 20+yrs old? Irl most prospects are 19/18 with some of the older prospects above 20 towards the back of the draft class as high floor players, instead of being the premier guys according to 2K.

-Second slide, quite literally the worst point guard class of all time. None of these guys are playable even in the rotation as they excel at literally nothing, every prospect feels exactly the same with similar ratings, badge counts, and skill sets.

-This is an aesthetic thing, but the players wear the weirdest sets of equipment. Nobody in the NBA is rocking whatever dude in slide 4 is wearing. This game also for some reason loves to auto generate unrealistic player profiles, and 6”3 230 pound PG? You’re playing the wrong sport bud. Also another one that i’ve seen, a 6”5 power forward?

-This is another huge pet peeve for me when it comes to auto generated players, the tendencies are completely ludicrous. In draft classes, it’s so easy to find a guy who has a 3pt rating in the low 70s or the 60s and they’ll shoot almost 10 3s a game. You have to manually change their 3point tendency or else it’ll stain the league and your team will suffer because of it.

2. Functional G-League for player development

-Huge pet peeve here, every time you send a young or newly drafted player to the G-league they crash out. Irl the g-league is a great spot for draft picks to become more acclimated to playing against NBA caliber talent, especially for international guys, and it’s better than them sulking away on the bench.

3. Training Camp

-WHY was this even removed? This was such a simple but cool feature that was in older 2k iterations, and I loved using to further develop young talent or if I wanted a non-shooting player to develop a 3 point shot for example.

4. Player drills (similar to Old-gen mycareer)

-This could coincide with training camp, where you could play actual drills in practice to help improve your players. In mynba they have a whole training tab that’s super cool but I feel like they could do much more with it by adding gameplay drills. Also, this could be a feature added into the pre draft workout point in the offseason where you can try out prospects before making a decision on drafting them.

5. Live negotiation system (From Last-Gen MyGM)

-In the old MyGM games, you could actively negotiate with players, coaches, and staff in order to sign them. You could ask them about team state, style, prestige, etc, as a way to gauge how interested they are in signing with your team. It would be so much fun if this was in MyNBA, and it’d make the experience feel more real instead of just clicking a button or two to sign someone.

6. An actual draft stage where prospects would wear team hats and greet Adam Silver

-Just something to make the experience feel more real.

7. Rapid Fire features/fixes that should already be in the game but 2k doesn’t care enough to fix

-Up to date apron system
- Superstar trade requests
-Buyouts, holdouts, Sign and trades
- Updated trade logic and more diversified team trading personalities, CPU teams will never trade for 90+ ovr players nor will they trade away their own 90+ovr players. Also, in trade finder they’ll send laughable offers to players you’d like to trade away and they’ll never give up multiple first round picks.

-Bring back the first, second, and third option roles in the coaching game plan selection menu

- PLEASE lower the number of CPU-CPU trade ups in the top 10/Lottery of the draft

-Fix the games played section for college prospects

-Similar to real life, genuine superstar players should rarely hit the open market during the free agency period.

-Similar to the 2k hoops summit, make a playable NBA Draft combine game

-Blockbuster CPU-CPU trades at the offseason and the trade deadline

-Minutes restriction functionality, I know there’s conditional coaching but i’m not sure if it entirely works correctly.

If you made it to the end, thank you for reading. None of this will likely ever happen besides maybe the apron system because they’ll probably be obligated to with the new lottery rules. This is just my vision of what the mode should look like.

Did I miss anything else? If so let me know your thoughts.

Madden 27 Beta review as a player who strictly plays Franchise Mode, and recommendations

Let me know what you guys think, I had over 1600 hours into Madden 25 (sad) and essentially skipped Madden 26. Overall, it’s an improvement from my perspective but i’m still dissatisfied, specifically with some of the little things that make a huge difference. (This is going to be pretty long lol)

Pros 🟢

The cpu actually makes trades in the mode, whether it’s through the draft or CPU-CPU trades during the preseason, regular season, or the offseason. This has been a problem for YEARS and i’m glad this is being addressed.

• Hallelujah the injured reserve has finally been fixed, you can actually take players off of IR now. I heard there’s still some possible bugs with it, but at least they’re acknowledging it.

•I’m assuming this wasn’t in madden 26 but you can finally sign free agents (not within the offseason period) to adjusted contracts, instead of just a fixed amount that they give you.

•Between persona DNA, the news feed, holdouts, some of the contract features, it makes the mode feel slightly more up to date with the NFL.

•I like the switch to player abilities having tiers now, (bronze, silver, gold) instead of they either have it or they don’t.

•For me at least, the mock drafts weren’t entirely accurate like they used to be. Hip Hip Hooray!

Mixed 🟡

Honestly I actually like the Negotiation system because it offers more pushback from the players so that you can’t completely abuse the system how it was previously. Every Madden Franchise player is different and I believe that if possible, they could figure out a way to add back customizing the amounts/year length manually as an option in league settings? Negotiations weren’t a huge issue for me, but free agency frenzy on the other hand was a huge gripe which i’ll get into later. My main problem is the motivations system, I feel that players should care more about wanting to reset the position market, similar to real life.

Cons 🔴

• PLEASE let Gus Hardbody and all of his friends go home, retire, let them be with their families. I am so fucking tired of these auto generated faces, and it’s inexcusable to still have this in the game. Superstar mode has their own avatar/face creator that looks awesome in my opinion, and the beta had 32 face presets that were customizable, almost 50 hair styles, and they looked like actual NFL players. 2K and MLB the show are perfect examples of how to implement custom faces into franchise mode. If you’re that lazy and you can’t add something that’s already in the game, use AI from CFB just please do something EA.

•That was NOT a** **free agency frenzy. You can literally sign whoever you want if you have enough cap space. You should have to make decisions in real time of who you want to prioritize as your free agency targets, when i’m negotiating with someone it should be at the expense of possibly losing someone else I wanted. I also wish there were more contract overpays similar to real life. The Dan Moore contract is a great example, where he got paid way above his market value at the time because he was one of the only younger but serviceable tackles on the market.

•This is a huge gripe for me, I simmed many years into the future on one save, 10 and 20, and the salary cap still barely moves as you progress within Franchise mode. So if you hated how CPU teams would never have any cap space after years into the future, that’ll continue lol.

•UDFAS, I mean at least it’s in the game but I shouldn’t be able to clearly look at their ratings and dev traits. Admittedly, the ratings for the players were also EXTREMELY high. UDFAS should be a low reward system where the chance of finding and diamond in the rough is very low. Their ratings should all realistically be in the 60s, besides an occasional anomaly.

•There’s really no point in talking about the trade system since they say it’s fixed every year, while it’s just not. Certain players with bad contracts or older guys for instance should have absolutely no value at all, not even a 7th round pick. I left the trade difficulty on default though so maybe it’s different at another level.

•Player progression still sucks, on normal sliders many players, auto generated QBs in specific often progress to the 90 overall easily, which drives up the cap hit for the CPU teams.

•The last main point is just scouting and the draft overall, I feel that there’s so many elements to it that desperately need upgrades at some point.

Personal Insights Into features and fixes i’d recommend 🔵

**•(**This stuff won’t be added anytime soon but just some suggestions to give EA some ideas for reference)

SCOUTING AND THE DRAFT

• There should be fog of war within the draft and scouting system, in the game, scouts are entirely correct on player evaluations, and in real life that’s just not the case… Area Scouts should have specific ratings, or traits that determine how accurate or inaccurate their evaluations are. Along with that, for AUTO GENERATED PLAYERS ONLY, the slow development trait should come back. Therefore, it would make the draft feel a lot more real because there’s a chance you could draft a guy who ends up as a bust.

Injury Storylines, College stats, A functional draft board instead of a favorites list, these would all be great additions.

•In-game Pre draft workouts and Combine interviews with prospects to try them out before drafting them, or to talk to them and figure out their persona DNA traits.

Conclusion

There’s more but won’t dive into this much deeper, if you read this I hope you enjoyed my breakdown and thank you.

Expectation vs. Reality

The odd numbered images are literally from the face creation suite in superstar mode, why isn’t this in franchise? They look like the average newly drafted NFL player.

Everyone, keep clowning on these presets until they add the custom face creator into franchise. Something that is in EVERY OTHER SPORTS GAME, or if you’re too lazy to add something that’s already in the game, at least use AI for crying out loud.

Madden 27 Franchise mode dev team if you can hear me, For the love of EVERYTHING these guys should NOT be my franchise qb’s that I just drafted

•PLEASE man, custom faces should be a thing for every fake generated player in madden franchise. Such a small thing that should’ve been implemented a LONGG time ago, and it completely ruins the realism for me when i’m forced to draft these guys in every single madden title. It’s literally a feature in every other sports game, and it’s literally a feature in superstar mode, but for some reason it’s not implemented in franchise mode? Makes no sense at all.

•At the very least, use AI faces because these presets have been in the game since dinosaurs roamed the earth and i’ve drafted multiple players with the same face preset a million times.

•If you guys resonate with this, please share this to as many franchise players as you can to somehow get the attention of franchise devs. Thank you.

Fully Fictional NCAA Scenario!

Scenario Name: YearzeroNCAA
Sliders: YearzeroNCAA (Turn game speed to 54 or 55)

-Another one! It’s definitely not as authentic as the NBA version since it’s harder to implement it with only 36 teams and the rules are wonky but tried my best.

-All players on the rosters and the head coaches for each team are fictional. The ratings for the players on this file are noticeably lower than most would probably prefer, and I designed it that way to ensure the top players in the country that are NBA bound truly differ from the rest. Also makes it easier to export them into draft classes with realistic ratings.
The sliders that I have provided should counteract with the low ratings and it should make it easier to score.

-Trading is turned off, and free agency is used to simulate the transfer portal. Instead of a draft lottery it’s an elimination tournament for the number 1 recruit. Every year at the end of march madness, go to the rosters and select quick edit, sort by vitals, then years pro, and make sure no one in the rosters should be at 6 years pro or higher, as 5 should be the limit (One red shirt year for instance and then 4 years of playing time as a starter/role player). For any player that is above 5 years pro or if you consider them to be a one and done player or in general a player considered to be draft ready, increase their age to the max and tank their ratings so they retire.
•Also looking to put these guys in an actual draft classes to be downloadable, and some of these guys are currently present in the (Yearzero) (NBA version scenario) and will look to add more.

•If you guys decide to check this out, I hope you enjoy! Always looking for feedback as well, much love 🫡

-2k Scenario name: Yearzero

Don’t think anyone would be interested in this, it’s probably kinda lame but just wanted to share it for fun. It’s basically just a completely fictional multiverse nba league that I have constructed. I’ve always been enamored with fictional type rosters because I originally started doing this around like nba 2k16 as a kid, but some of the older aged players in this file are based on my NBA 2k23 myleague. Since I didn’t want to abandon those cool players in the rosters, I figured why not just remake them for every new 2k game, and progressively add in more guys each time to continue storylines and build the lore essentially lol. It’s definitely tedious though 😬.

The players in these files are meticulously crafted with specific tendencies, signatures, badges, play types, potential caps, and hot zones that correspond with their ratings, since most of the time 2k has really weird tendency ratings for auto generated guys that often don’t match with their ratings. It’s a pretty diverse set of players as well because aesthetically I try to ensure they don’t all appear the same as most auto generated guys do, and they all have specific personalities and durability ratings that make them unique. For the coaching staffs, all of the head coaches for each team are also fictional and they have specific proficiencies, coaching tendencies, and badges that make them unique. Regarding the other staff positions i didn’t mess with it too much. I also have the draft class that I created, which is in the setup.

For the league settings and gameplay sliders, I used PopBoy as the base but I made some alterations based on what I prefer for gameplay, so feel free to change it if you give my scenario a go.

It’s not perfect though, i’m still working on tendencies specifically, there might be some big men that shoot mid ranges when it’s not their specialty. Also for contracts and cap space, it is definitely wonky as there are a lot of funky contracts or certain guys don’t have any bird years when they actually should. I’m also working on exporting all of the player DNA to make it an actual roster in the main menu along with the scenario.
If you guys are interested, you’re welcome to give it a try, i’m probably the only person interested in this type of stuff but it’s fun for me i guess 😭😭.
