That's a hard no, right?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to inspecting 4runners by myself. Still pretty green at how to properly evaluate whether to buy used, but I feel like I'm learning a lot and getting better.

This is a hard pass right? So much flaking and it seems like they may have spray painted over the rust since the chips falling off were black.

I feel like the hole on the (what I think is) the control arm mount connecting to the frame was the tell tale sign.

After looking underneath and almost certainly going to pass, I went to check under the hood. The hood didn't release cleanly and it wouldn't stay open. At that point I said no thanks.

2006 4x4 157K Miles for $14.5K - should I buy?

Hi everyone - wanted a 4runner but came across this today.

2006 4x4 V8 157K Miles for $14.5K
- timing belt and water pump and radiator and thermostat have been replaced a week ago.
- fitted camper shell
- 4LO 4HI works
- Darrel waltrip edition

-a slight spot of rust on the frame

-brake pads screeched a little at first

- A/C knob needs to be replaced

- small dent

- odd paint area

I did a little research and it seems like these are really sought after trucks. I'm new to the tundra game and ultimately want a 4 runner but i feel like this would be a good truck to have for now.

Car spent time in FL and Idaho.

Is $14.5K too much? Also can anyone tell me if there's anything wrong in any of the photos?
