XLRI Delhi BM vs Reattempt?

Currently working as a software engineer (~18 LPA CTC) and will have close to 2 years of work ex by the time MBA starts. Scored 97.3 in XAT this year. CAT didn’t go the way I wanted, but honestly I also don’t think I prepared in the serious/consistent way needed while managing a full-time job.

I’ve converted XLRI Delhi BM and I’m also waitlisted at 181 for XLRI Jamshedpur BM, but I’ve been really confused about whether to take Delhi or give CAT one final serious attempt.

A few things making this difficult:

  • this would be my 3rd CAT attempt
  • parents aren’t fully convinced about XL Delhi
  • I keep hearing mixed things about SIPs/combined placements
  • scared of settling too early
  • also scared of wasting another year and ending up in the same position

At the same time, I genuinely feel I have more potential than my current CAT score reflects.

Would you take XL Delhi in this situation or retry once more? Looking for honest advice from people who know the MBA/job market well.
