Minimalist Board for Lead Guitar

So, for context, I’ve been playing guitar for 22 years, and most of that has been the campfire/front porch type of playing. I’ve recently found a great group of guys to jam with regularly, it’s going great, we even played a small birthday party “gig” the other night and everybody had a blast. I’ve found myself in the lead guitar role in this group, and they give me plenty of room to go off while being pretty good at reeling me back in, which is basically a musical dream come true for me.

I’ve never really messed around much with pedals though. I’ve had a couple different multi-effect units that I struggled to really get dialed in satisfactorily. I’m playing an Epiphone SG through a Fender Deluxe, and I’m pretty happy with the general tone as is, but I’d like to have a way to boost the volume/crunch for solos, as well as maybe give the guitar a little more presence in general.

I do have 3 pedals I’ve acquired over the years: a Boss Distortion DS-1, Boss Digital Delay DD-6, and a Boss Waza Craft Delay DM-2w. Obviously I would only use one of the delay pedals in the chain.

There’s a pretty wide range of influences that the different members are pouring into the stew, from folk and indie, hard rock and metal, punk, jamband type improv, southern blues rock and outlaw country, funk and soul.

I’d like to build a kind of “signature sound” that’s versatile enough to shine in different styles/genres. I don’t want more than 4 or 5 pedals on the board. I don’t need a tuner. What should I look into acquiring to kind of fill out my sound and give me decent range and options?
