Hey, it's Funny Little Things! Thought it was amusing how they really want Chiyo to hit another incest trope.
On this chapter though, gotta say... Glasses are really versatile. First, you can have glasses-wearing girls take them off and suddenly become beautiful, or have girls wearing glasses flashing those cute grins, or have girls stealing the protagonist's glasses and putting them on like, "Haha, got your glasses!' That's just way too cute! Also, boys with glasses! I really like when their glasses have that suspicious looking gleam, and it's amazing how it can look really cool or just be a joke. I really like how it can fulfill all those abstract needs. Being able to switch up the styles and colors of glasses based on your mood is a lot of fun too! It's actually so much fun! You have those half rim glasses, or the thick frame glasses, everything! It's like you're enjoying all these kinds of glasses at a buffet. I really want the newer girlfriends to try some on. We really need glasses to become a thing in the Rentarou Family and start selling them as real life merch. Don't. You. Think. We. Really. Need. To. Officially. Give. Everyone. Glasses?

Hey what's up guys, it's Funny Little Things, coming equipped with this shot of Yaku explaining why Kusuri wants everyone to equip their fellow girlfriends. Yaku just says it like it is. Somehow this got Kurumi drooling, and you have to wonder which part of the sentence did that to her. The bird? The fish? Did the fish turning into a spear remind her of skewers?

And while we're at it, I find it disproportionately amusing that Ahko's immediate reaction to Meme disappearing into thin air is admire how cute the stuffed animal is (which seemed to be part of the merchandise being sold). Always did think that Ahko's very wide range of things she would consider cute was one of her underappreciated quirks.

Without further ado: Ahko is finally gracing Funny Little Things! How many people here have been waiting for this cinnamon roll? She was pretty much an instant hit with the audience for being an unique yet still highly appealing take on the gyaru archetype. Ahko's chill demeanor and dopey smile just send me. It helps that her introduction chapter is one of the cutest, most heart-throbbing "meet cute" stories in the series. Seriously, it could have worked as a standalone oneshot.
The neat new thing I noticed about her is that Ahko already owned a Pentarou keychain, before she even met Rentarou. So yeah, she was always gonna find our guy cute. Some things are simply meant to be.

Hello, it's Funny Little Things, and it's time for the Family to take on the Challenge Ramen ramen challenge! Yes, I wanted to say that in a redundant way.
Anyhow! I wish we got more of this style of chapter, where the girls and Rentarou pair off and go somewhere, and we see what each pair does throughout the chapter. I've been kicking the idea of them visiting a wildlife reserve to look at some famous capybara, or something like that.
The pair we're focusing on are Shizuka and Nano. Shizuka's holding a bag that seems to have "book" written on it, so we can reasonably assume they had just gone shopping together. Unsurprising, but sweet nonetheless.
Now there's plenty more to delve into, so how about you guys, what is your favorite gag for this segment?

Kishika's entrance into the Family takes place via a 1 vs 16 rest kendo match, and Kishika gallantly dispatches 15 of them! Wait, 15? That's right, only 15, because Hahari once again proves she Hakari's mother by hatching a cunning ploy to celebrate a false victory for Kishika, leaving her open for a surprise attack. This involves making Mei pretend to be the referee, and the funny little detail here is that you can actually see Rentarou visibly sweating because he can't divulge Hahari's plot, right before Hahari reveals it.
But Kishika really lose is the question. Because boy oh boy did she get a sweet treat at the end of this. For real.

Hello friends, it's Funny Little Things, and today a certain chivalrous knight has entered the scene.
Being completely honest, I was put off by Kishika's baboo gimmick at first. It took me quite a while to warm up to it, and now I'm chuckling whenever Kishika becomes a baby. Damn you Nakamura for corrupting me!
Today's nifty little detail is this shot of Kishika thinking back to Kusuri getting headpats from two of their classmates, both of whom have distinctive designs and reappear later. In fact I'm rooting for one of them to join the harem, just coz I really like her design. Hint hint, Nakamura. That's how you make up for warping my sense of humor.

The gods (read: Nakamura-sensei) sure love throwing all sorts of calamities at our posse. Poor Yamame got stranded down a cliff; thankfully Iku pushed herself to bail her out. Seriously, I know Iku is always tempering her body but dragging that tree trunk is dang impressive. I also appreciate the detail of Yamame's butterflies sticking to Iku's head. They knew she was their best shot of getting back to Yamame, aww.

Aaaanyway, for this post we are at chapter 78, and no, I'm not highlighting that other maid here. I'm looking at Alus and Butch instantly sensing that Yamame is visiting. Especially impressive for Butch who had to turn its head a good way around. That Disney Princess aura is powerful.

Hi there, it's Funny Little Things, bringing you a fairytale-y bonus chapter of sorts! And at this point we haven't even had a beret-wearing author join the Family yet! I don't know how Nakamura-sensei and Nozawa-sensei managed to pump a full extra chapter out on top of their regular releases. I'm quietly praying they do this bit for the girlfriends that have appeared since this released, if only to see them cosplay figures from folk tales.
Anyhow, the funny little thing for today is Kusuri's basket, which is full of test tubes with drugs! Because of course. Honestly, this is one fairy tale that's more believable than the original. More plausible for a kid to mistake a wolf from her grandma when they're transmogrifying physical forms on the daily.

Funny Little Things is coming in swinging with the introduction of the one and only grande madre of Kusuri (and eventually the whole Family), Yakuzen Yaku! She is quite possibly the best example of the "looks like a child but is actually old" trope, because guess what, she genuinely acts like a mature adult. Rentarou couldn't even make her melt, she's just too strong. "It'd be laughable for you to comprehend how I think" she says. That instantly hooked me. Her calm demeanor also makes her cutesy moments all the more impactful. Top tier GF in my book and I can't wait for her anime debut.
Oops, I didn't even talk about the actual funny little thing yet, which is the attention to detail with the giant flask full of Negation Drug still sporting holes in it, with the liquid inside noticeably decreased. The Yakuzens are gonna have to brew up a fresh batch.

This time Rentarou visits Kusuri's home, meets the parents and... whew, no zings this round! Isn't it nice to have some peace every now and then?
Except some random foreign spy crashes the party to abduct Kusuri. Thankfully Rentarou's quick thinking allowed papa Yakuzen to hulk out and turn that jerk into a shooting star. I think it's hilarious that said jerk's eyeballs never returned to their sockets after popping through his sunglasses.

Rentarou becoming an assistant to Nozawa-sensei herself is one of my favorite meta jokes in the manga, especially when Rentarou points at stuff he personally helped ink. Can't wait to see how the anime will do this part.
But for now, instead of highlighting something, let's take this day to appreciate Nozawa-sensei's hard work. Hope she's getting a lot of rest right now. Well, as much as she can with a baby to take care of.

The sea otter hotpot sumo tournament has concluded, and everyone won! Except arguably Rentarou's sense of decency, which took a bit of a hit. As long as the girls are happy!
It's neat seeing all the kisses laid out in one panel and how each one differs. To zone in on a few examples: Naddy of course goes for the full contact hug, Mei opts for the romantic, graceful approach, and Nano gets the mutual chin lift. Nice.
