While copypastas have always been a cornerstone of this sub, we do not want people who are unaware getting banned from spaces they might enjoy or might mean a lot to them for having a little jerk.

Why are you making this post?

Because this has never happened before and as such, we feel the need to warn our users that there might be potential retaliation for their activity in this sub. In the yearish that this sub has existed, what happened in RCJ mostly stayed in RCJ. That is no longer a safe assumption.

Other subs get to run their subs however they want. Their mods are under no obligation to find us funny. There is no appeal on your behalf, especially since we here at RCJ were under the impression we were on good terms with 99% of the [REDACTED] subs and pretty much every mod has been active here at one point or another. An entire coup was hosted here ffs. We're flummoxed.

This is gonna be a whole unjerk so forgive the seriousness.

Earlier this week, I posted a copypasta that was a direct word for word of the original post about a certain book. I have never read Manacled or Alchemized, nor do I intend to, so I was unaware that the author is nonbinary. This post misgendered the author in both the title and the body.

So a big thank you to the reporter who made me aware! Despite being done from a place of ignorance and not malice, I still want to apologize to anyone who saw it and were made to feel uncomfortable. This is being said with full sincerity, as a nonbinary person myself, I would never intentionally misgender someone. It makes me happy there are folks in this sub who are willing to call it out when they see it.

Anyways, that’s all I came here to say! To the people that did know and didn’t say anything, please do next time. I don’t like that the post was up for three days before I found out.

This is a masterpiece, why is it not receiving more credit? The flashbacks are amazing, I was truly invested and I'm someone who is hard to please. The politics and world building are also very interesting and Helena is a fascinating protagonist. The love story is unique and heartbreaking.

People say it glorifies rape when it's the exact opposite, it portrays rape as completely horrible and dehumanising. Meanwhile asoiaf arguably glorifies pedophilia (book!Daenerys is only 15 and she's very sexualized) yet it receives wide recognition and praise. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant has a literal rapist as a protagonist, yet Donaldson is a respected fantasy author. No shade against these books but the double standards are outstanding.

I'm sad to see that post taken down because it's also something I struggled with when I first started, and it was someone seeking help to hit a healthier cal intake than what they were at. It was literally doing the opposite of promoting unsafe calories amounts.

When you're used to consuming the majority of calories via drinks like giant Starbucks coffees or beer, it can genuinely be hard to adjust at first. You've just cut out over half of the calories you're used to consuming, and you suddenly find yourself confronted with actually having to eat MORE than you're used to stay within a healthy range.

And honestly, I've had people be real shitty to me when I first started losing weight and asked the same question. Not everyone who is overweight or obese got there from over eating or disordered eating, and folks can get real weird when people are asking for advice on how to get MORE calories in.

So to that person and anyone else in the same boat, here was my comment and tips for hitting 1200 calories:

What really helped me was smoothies in the afternoon if it looked like I would be short! I get my mindless sipping calories in and manage to hit my 1200-1300 goal. The longer you count calories, the better idea you'll have of where to add the higher cal foods and what needs to stay gone. You could also totally have had a soft drink during lunch or have a sauce with your chicken to make up for them as well.

On days that I had that many cals left after dinner, I would probably have gone for a smore before a prepackaged cookie. That's gonna be closer to 210 (depending on the type of chocolate) cals and it's a mother flipping smore! Takes 15 secs to make in a microwave. Another dessert would be vanilla greek yogurt and granola with just a little bit of maple syrup.

It will take a little bit of time to get used to it but you got this!!

Okay so this is such a long shot but I was thinking of old fantasy books and series I had read in high school and there was one that I have been trying to find for YEARS. I know this is a SUPER long shot and my google fu has failed me.

Here's what I remember:

• Format: Fantasy novel, almost certainly published in the 90, small mass market paperback
• Plot: World with four kingdoms/regions each associated with a different classical element (earth, air, water, fire), heavy political intrigue, four protagonists
• Cover/s: Art nouveau or art nouveau-adjacent style; at least one cover was predominantly blue; possibly smaller character portraits in the corners?
